Any US morgage companies finance foreign real estate?

Im looking to buy some land in Canada.I heard that you can write it off on taxes if you finance it through a US bank.Ive been having a hell of a time finding a US broker that will finance RE out of the Country.You guys know anyone that will?

next time you hear about one of these national (international) R.E. gurus coming to your area go to the seminar and present the idea to them. These dudes have no problem asking investors to follow them (with their checkbooks!) to Central America. They are touting it as the new retirement location for Americans. Foreign investment is no issue with private money.
