Any Club or Party Promoters

Next Year i'm going to be transferring to Morgan state in Baltimore and instead of getting a real job I was thinking about getting into the club/party promotions business. My major is marketing, but I was wondering if there was anybody that could give me any tips or tell me how they started promoting clubs and throwing parties.

Basically I don't really understand the business. It is probably just because of where I am from (a small city with only 2 clubs)so there is not a big selection on where people can party at. Now from what I understand is that a club promoters job is to basically pack the club. None of the clubs where i live have promoters people just hear about the club word of mouth. I just don't understand why a promoter would be that valuable to a club. I also don't know how to start promoting a club. do i just go around and ask different owners do they need a promoter? I'm not going down there to next year, but I just wanna be prepared so i can start right away. I appreciate any help.

lol, I thought nobody was gonna reply because I heard that club promoters never wanna give out they secrets. or let anybody in the game. But that was a very good look luchini I'm gonna make sure I hit you up i'll probably be down there in the spring for maybe just one day, but i'll probably do some summer courses so I'll definantly holla at you.
 
pretty interesting, i just relocated as well and i'm just lookinf for a few tips on getting ideas off the ground, any info would def be appreciated

Im in the Tuscaloosa,Birmingham area and I want to get into the club promotion thing and make some money


It seems like in college now all the Frats and Sorrors got it on lock and I want a piece of the pie.

I also want to own a club oneday

club promotions is very risky, especially in the beginning. I would not recommend to make this your main cash flow because its not very steady. It takes awhile to get to the point where you're "living" off club promoting.

The money making nights are Thursday-Saturday... Most of those nights are already held with established promoters or the clubs do it themselves. So you'll most likely get those crappy nights like tuesday or monday. I wouldn't suggest doing weekly in the beginning... why? because its not consistent. One week is full, next 3 weeks its empty. I would do like every 1st wednesdays of the month. And have a unique theme. All red party... Black and white Affair. Summers are better to do weekly events since school is out. Also figure out what kind of crowd you looking for?... young, college, rowdy big clubs, lounge/upscale. I did more of the lounge/upscale.... the ones with a strict dress code and such. I suggest doing those because you don't have to worry about security too much. When you do the bigger clubs or the regular-dance-your-ass-off kind of clubs... you get fights and drunk people puking... all that stuff.


I can speak alot about club promotions but thats alot of typing.


Best bet is network with other promoters and collab with them on some events. Build your name and your face in your local nightclub scene. Big unique in your events and make sure you promote your ass off.

I went from passing out flyers every night on the streets......... to just going to the event, collect my money and leave home with a dame without any work/promoting (basically our events built a name and rep and we had a crowd regardless).

Ive just started promoting in my area i booked my first party but shot myself in the foot for a 200 dollar promo fee..i should've asked for more ..flyers are fucking expensive...$40.00 for 1000 and overnight shipping is 72 dollars ...a nigga broke over here...damn gas prices is fucking with the shipping cost..other than flyers word of mouth im un expereinced..on the plus side i also design the flyers...and we are having a lingere party at the club and i get to tryout girls for the flyers.....o happy day

yea that shit is hard ,, iam networking hard to get my lil company off the ground ,, bussiness cards ,, going to clubs,, travel from state to state,, '

u gotta spend money to make money
