How is sitting out an election and allowing an openly racist candidate put forth an agenda that will be detrimental to black folks 'looking at the larger picture'?
A candidate who hired an Attorney General that wants to roll back the clemency laws that President Obama implemented.
An Attorney General that wants to expand private prisons after President Obama started to roll back the expansion.
Who do you think he will fill those prisons with? An attorney general who wants tougher laws on drug crimes. Where are the drugs being pumped into? Who will suffer these consequences? Who will fill these jails?
So yeah, I'm riding with the dems. They are FAR FAR FAR from perfect, but the fact is that black folks do better economically under Democratic administrations.
Black people need to come up with an agenda and make demands instead sitting by idly and letting politicians take advantage. It's up to us to become more involved. You want a better Democratic party, then get involved. Sitting out of an election is asinine and a slap in the face to black heroes like Octavius Catto who DIED for your right to vote.
