Allen Hughes directing the new Tupac documentary - Dear Mama ???

I love Pac and his work but I'm gonna have to pass I done seen too many Pac docs. Saw his movie and BIGs. Saw all the bitch ass Vlad vids on YT. They wearing this Pac thing out.

I understand

It really has reached a point where we need to focus more on the fact birthday their murders remained unsolved

And stop feeding off this tragedy and continuing negative narratives and lies.

Well, even thats been covered. I'm not going say we shouldn't make more docs since there is always a new generation of fans coming up but these docs aren't really covering new ground either.

I feel like they're going to the "Pac well" too many damn times. RIP to him, but goddamn how many more documentaries and movies do we need?

What don’t we already know!?!??? Also Pac hatred these guys . Mad disrespectful of them

It's like there's no other hip hop group or rappers that film makers want to explore besides Pac and, to a lesser extent, Biggie.

Personally, I'd like a 2 Live Crew doc. These dudes went through a lot solely because of their music.

It's these f*cking youtube channels dedicated to interviewing hangers-on, weed carriers, and wanna be security.

All they do is repeat the SAME stories over and over and over

Starting up trouble over rumors and gossip that have been proven false decades ago.

Hurting those men remaining family and children.

I truly hate that sh*t.

Agreed with all of that.

But why is Allen Hughes diving into this shit now? Is it to regain some relevancy or what?

I'll say Tupac is an interesting figure but the documentary stuff has been done. It's hard for me to imagine there's more ground left uncovered.

There murders are actually solved, but the actual shooters of both are dead.

I agree and had no plans on watching this documentary at all.

But I would advise everyone to watch this especially since it gives far more insight into his mother and her struggles.

He took a Godfather 2 approach in telling this story of Pac and Afeni which is deep.

Despite what people say this isn't a hit piece on Pac by Allen Hughes but it is a very honest portrait of both, warts and all which is refreshing honestly.

This!

That shit is sickening at this point.

I was like yall.... "just another Pac doc" ... but with Afeni actually co-signing this, having her say before her passing, having her sister in it, Pacs dad, etc and then the way they started from the beginning to where it is now is something different. Ive never seen everything pieced together so nicely. Its worth a watch fasho!

On a side note....if yall ever wanna watch another well put together doc then watch "King Von: Raps First Serial Killer". That ish 3.5 hours long but its hella interesting. Von was a savage and used Twitter as his killing diary. Its a trip.

This is what separates from the other doc's because I've never seen them give Pac's family a platform. The Black Panther part of his life seems to be an after thought. This shit was dope as hell. This was much needed and I hope people gave it a shot and not having Pac fatigue.

I mean I be entertained by it but yeah the market is overflooding certain stories. There's a million stories in hip hop but they sticking with the same 5.
