All That's Interesting

On the morning of October 1, 1993, a 21-year-old armored truck driver named Heather Tallchief was making a routine circuit in Las Vegas, delivering money to restock various ATMs at casinos. The first stop of the day was Circus Circus. At that point, Tallchief's truck was about one-third full, carrying $3.1 million in cash. And at first, nothing seemed particularly unusual about the stop.
But then, when Tallchief's co-workers went inside the casino to stock its ATM, she simply drove off in the truck with the money. Her fellow employees at Loomis soon realized that they had been robbed, but they initially thought that the money had been stolen by someone else and that Tallchief was being held as a hostage. Little did they know, the unassuming young woman had made off with the cash herself — and she had done it at the behest of her much older boyfriend, who was also a convicted murderer.
