Man Buys New Truck Using Loose Change
FRANKFORT, Ind. (AP) ―
Frankfort resident Paul Brant considers himself a penny pincher.

But it's his passion for saving quarters and gold dollar coins that's really paid off.

Yesterday, the 70-year-old used more than $25,000 in change to buy a new Dodge Ram half-ton pickup truck. That purchase comes 13 years after he bought another truck using spare change.

Brant stored his change in coffee cans, water jugs and piggy banks over the years. He says he got so much change by using vending machines at Chrysler in Kokomo, where he works.

Yesterday, he was escorted by sheriff's deputies as he brought the rolled coins to the dealership.

He says he was raised to be thrifty. His father always paid in cash and saved up loose change to take vacations.

Good for him. I wish I had that discipline. I saved a lot when I was in college. Everytime I broke a five I would keep the change no matter what it was. Plus loose change.

There were a lot of pizzas and club admissions (strip clubs  ) paid for with that piggy bank!

You would be surprised how much you can save. I do the same thing with pennies and stuff. Just throw them in a jar at the end of the day when you change out of your work clothes and clean out your pockets. I have went to those coinstar machines and got $40 or so just with pennies saved over a year period and I used the loot to get a new 360 game:yes:

damn, I am about to start saving my loose change and put that shit in the bank..

You would be more tempted to spend the money in the bank than you would ever your loose change....I have three piggy banks (big ones) full of pennies, dimes and nick's.....if i were to guess it may be about three hundred in cash.
