If it wasn't for those Vibe articles written by Kevin Powell, those two would probably still be spitting barbs. I think that man and his editors, played a major roll in sparking the fire that ignited the whole West Coast, East Coast thing.

Kevin Powell and VIBE certainly hyped it up, but I wouldn't place all the blame on them. Tupac started that shit in the VIBE interview he gave from prison.

I had the subscription at the time. Tupac did say some inflammatory things in the one from prison, but if I recall he was still heated , and had something to get off his chest from the shooting incident. My quarrel was always with the way in which VIBE wrote and presented the story, even then making the articles confrontational, instigating some action. I knew it was going to get out of hand. I always put Powell at the center of that storm, I think I always will.

Didn't Kevin Powell have issues of his own back in the day anyway? Going off on other VIBE staff members, getting fired, becoming an alcoholic, etc?
