Sorry if this has been done before. Did a search and nothing came up. Let me just first state that my knowledge of today's superhero world is weak. However, I was put in the situation this week to watch Avengers and Justice Leage. As a kid, a hundred years ago, I had no position. My favorite characters were The Flash and Spiderman. If I HAD to choose today, probably the Black Panther, Dr Strange and the Aquaman character.

I'm also intrigued by certain matchups.
Batman vs Iron man
Flash vs Spiderman

As you can see, I like polls and statistics.

Marvel for me. They always tended to focus on the person with the powers more than DC. It made the characters easier to relate to. Plus a lot of DC's characters are way overpowered. That said, there were some DC titles I used to like, Teen Titans for instance.

The Superman character was way overpowered to me. Then it began to seem like kryptonite was available at any drugstore thereby negating his power. Any old lady can kick his ass.

Aside from kryptonite, he's also vulnerable to magic and mind control. But yeah, I get that he was the first super hero, but he's way too OP. And they have added more vulnerabilities over time, but also upped the limits of his power over time.

Go a lil deeper and you can find the Hulk vs Superman, Spider-Man vs Superman (was stupid) Batman vs Hulk (same) and these came out in the 70s I believe

*Batman kicks the hulk and makes him inhale knock out gas. Really?

DC for life. Everytime I walk away from comics, it's usually a DC book that will pull me back in.
I had walked away from comics for about a year or so before the batshit craziness of DC Metal brought me back in.

I remember seeing the Superman vs Spiderman comic when I was a kid (yea I'm old) and couldn't afford it. UGH!!!! Wish I'd borrowed the money or something and bought every damn one of them.

marvel comics always...DC used to have the edge re: movies and then iron man happened

Plus sometimes in marvel the writers are so dope... even with the Villains you can kinda see their side of what or why they do what they do
You go... ya know what? Yea I can roll wit him on this- Magneto- wanting to keep mutants away from the humans because all he saw was humans turning on each other and the way they treated the mutants. Or Kilmonger reasoning

yep DC villains are just big generic monsters w/ a horde of aliens

Most DC villains are bout TAKING OVER THE WORLD- with no in-depth reasoning. = Lex luthor, The Joker

heath ledger’s joker and ozymandias are the last DC villains I can recall that weren’t one dimensional

Marvel.

I loved how Spiderman was always broke.

I loved how the Fantastic Four didn't always get along.

I love how Thor will get pissed and kill you if you want to go there.

I love that Blue Marvel had to give up his career cause white people couldn't handle a Black man with that much power.

Marvel always had better and more nuanced writing than DC.

I love that Falcon hates Spiderman cause he finds him annoying. Or that Hawkeye doesn't Ben Grimm cause he always calls himself the Blue Eyes Thing. Etc etc.

Marvel but it wasn't always that way. DC comic were everywhere, Marvel comics not so much. In the mid 60s Marvel distribution got better.

I started out with DC, Batman was and still is a favorite of mine next to The Flash. Most of the comics I bought were of DC, then the Batman movies and show were prevalent and so many Superman cartoons.

But then X-Men came around and I started getting into Marvel. The matvel stories felt relatable really quickly and I dove into the characters headfirst.

Today i say im more a Marvel fan than DC. Marvel just has so many unique characters in its universe.

Had every last one. Sis house had a fire. All them shits went

DC has characters are more made out to be Gods, while Marvel characters tend to feel more human and relatable with real life issues, and I have always said that Superman is WAY too op but dude stay getting outsmarted by humans. It seems like they constantly try to revamp the character to make him more appealing but they havent been successful in doing so... even in the man of steel movie they attempted to apply The Dark Knight template to superman, but it really doesn't work as well for him.
Marvel really has always been the more progressive of the two companies, they pretty much have all the anti heroes, like Wolverine, Deadpool, Punisher, Daredevil etc. Batman and his related characters are pretty much DCs anti heroes.

And that article about batman showing his unit further validates my thoughts on how DC is doing pointless shit in the comics, First yall had superman being powered and weakened by Kyrptonite at the same damn time, then Batman became a meta-human.... then a GOD lmaoooo, now you got batman flashing his dick for shock value/female and Gay readers. Im not letting marvel off the hook either for that Captain America/hydra shit, making thor a woman out of nowhere, Civil War 2, and hella gimmicks. Overall, I feel that DC never really caught up in the last 15 years.... and if you really think about it, the whole company is centered around character.
