I never actually watched the show so have no idea who she might be referring to as the co star that sexually harassed her. Hair person is just stupid.

ABC entertainment president Karey Burke reacted to allegations of sexual harassment, bullying, and racial discrimination made byThe Rookie star Afton Williamson, who announced that she was opting not to return for the show’s sophomore season.

“I’m going to, I’m sure, be quite frustrating to you today because I don’t have a lot of answers. I wish I had more,” Burke said during the network’s executive session at the Television Critics Association summer press tour presentation on Monday.

“I learned, alongside my colleagues, at the end of June that there were allegations and that an investigation had been launched by eOne and I’m waiting for the results of that investigation, just as you are, to get more answers.”

She added, “I can trust the investigation because…the production company hired an independent third party to do the investigation. I’m hopeful that those results will be independent and trustworthy and anticipate they will be. At that time, those answers and those conclusions will help guide us about how to handle situations like that in the future if, in fact, there has been any sort of communication breakdown.”

Williamson, who portrayed Talia Bishop on the Nathan Fillion-led crime drama for one season, shared her story with fans via Instagram on Sunday. She alleged that there was “racial discrimination/racially charged inappropriate comments from the hair department and bullying from executive producers” while shooting the pilot episode.

Adding that she was sexually harassed by a guest star she declined to name, sexually assaulted during the show’s wrap party, and subjected to racist commentary and bullying from the hair department. Williamson claims she reported the harassment to series showrunner and executive producer Alexi Hawley who took no action against the guest star nor had he reported the incident to human resources. EW has not been able to independently confirm her allegations.

“After my initial report of sexual harassment, I was assured that the actor would be fired,” Williamson said. “I was also asked to film with him the very next day as a courtesy to the script, even though we had not begun filming the episode yet.”

EW has reached out to a representative for Hawley for comment.

Both the network and production company Entertainment One released public statements on Sunday regarding the matter.

“The allegations involve a production from Entertainment One,” the statement from ABC said. “In late June, eOne made us aware and informed us that they launched an investigation that is ongoing. The safety of working environments is a top priority for us, and we take this matter very seriously.”

Entertainment One added, “We have initiated an independent investigation which is ongoing and as such, it would be inappropriate to comment at this time.”

Why not name him? It's going to come out eventually.
she did

"I experienced Racial Discrimination/Racially Charged inappropriate comments
from the hair department and bullying from Executive Producers.
During the Season, it continued along with Sexual Harassment from a recurring guest star, Demetrius Grosse,
and the racist commentary & bullying from the Hair Dept.Head, Sally Ciganovich
"

do i believe her

that is a whole other question

Damn thats dude from banshee
Thought for sure it was Beach, since he was a recurring character that had the most contact with her, plus he plays the father of another character on the show.

Plus, it made the most sense that they wouldn't rush to fire him.

got it

She made her shit private. The brother probably will do the same soon. They were lighting his comments up earlier
crazy

Last month I saw she was not returning I just figured she was done with the show. They could of killed her off vs Mercedes.

My issue is if its an investigation why is any of this information out there.

Now I'm more confused:

She alleged that there was “racial discrimination/racially charged inappropriate comments from the hair department and bullying from executive producers” while shooting the pilot episode.

And she still continued to do 20 episodes.

She was promised the matter would be run thru the chain of command and addressed and that she wouldn't have to film with guy any longer. She later discovered it was never addressed with HR and dude ended up on the same call sheet without warning.

She powered through it until:

A) she couldn't take anymore
B) she needed the money
C) she lined something else up
D) little column A,B, AND C

I feel you but she had many scenes with him. After he got shot, he was off a few episodes then he came back and they looked like they were going to date.

According to her version she was under the impression he would be fired after she reported his behavior for him to only return later at which time she was told he was never fired.

That would explain the story arc and absence your speaking of.

A lot of actors seem to have a problem with chicks they are fucking/dating on camera and try to work that shit into real life...and the chicks are just acting

She's a cutie pie, but when you try to push it and she's acting and you trying to get your dick sucked in REAL LIFE that's a problem.

Dude that played Eazy-E had that same issue, harassing broads he's working with to the point where she had to fuck his life up to get him to leave her alone. Shit's crazy, man. motherfukers know that it's not cool to shit where you eat, but every time some motherfuckers see a chance they're trying to shit right where they eat

Afton Williamson’s Rookie Character Won’t Be Killed Off

Last week, one of the stars of ABC’s hit cop dramedy The Rookie, Afton Williamson, publicly quit the show after what she alleged was frequent on-set sexual harassment and racism over the course of the first season — behavior that went ignored by the showrunner and the network’s HR department despite her pleas for an investigation. Her officer character, TVLine now reports, will not be killed off within the show’s universe when season two begins, but rather “organically” transferred out of the LAPD to a new career at a federal agency. This move, in turn, will pair her trainee (Nathan Fillion) with a new officer, set to be played by Lost alum Harold Perrineau for a few episodes.

Williamson revealed the reason for her departure in an Instagram message, alleging she was frequently subjected to “racial discrimination/racially charged inappropriate comments from the hair department,” as well as sexual harassment from a “recurring guest star,” whom she later identified as Demetrius Grosse. She also claimed she was sexually assaulted by the hair-department head on one occasion. “HR protocol was never adhered to,” Williamson wrote. “An investigation was never issued for any of my claims.”

While the hair-department head was ultimately fired, Williamson said a June meeting between herself, showrunner Alexi Hawley, producers, her agent, and a SAG-AFTRA union representative was useless — in fact, Grosse was invited back for The Rookie’s second season. “It was clear to all present in the meeting that the showrunner had not shared my reports with any of the producers,” Williamson wrote. “The investigation hadn’t even begun and season two had already started filming.” As a result, Williamson said she had no choice but to “walk” away from the show. “Now is the best time in the world to be a woman and I have a platform so it’s time to use my voice,” she concluded. “Strength comes from within. It comes from above.”

RELATED STORIES

The production studio behind ABC’s The Rookie says it has launched an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and racial bullying made by cast member Afton Williamson, who quit the series after sensing that her complaints had been largely ignored.

As first reported by TVLine, Williamson is not returning for Season 2 of the procedural, where she played training officer Talia Bishop opposite Nathan Fillion’s title character. In a message posted to Instagram early Sunday morning, the actress alleged that starting with the pilot shoot in spring 2018 and throughout all of Season 1, she “experienced racial discrimination/racially charged inappropriate comments from the hair department,” as well as sexual harassment from a recurring guest star. Williamson alleges that the bullying from the hair department escalated into sexual assault at the Season 1 wrap party.

“HR protocol was never adhered to following the above reports given by me to my showrunner/EP [Alexi Hawley], and an investigation was never issued for any of my claims,” Williamson said in her Instagram post. “Despite being told that “everything was handled” following a June meeting that she called — involving showrunner Alexi Hawley, two other producers, her agent and a SAG-AFTRA union representative — “The investigation hadn’t even begun and Season 2 had already started filming.” As a result, she says, “I walked.”

A statement issued by production studio eOne reads, “We take claims of this nature very seriously. We have initiated an independent investigation which is ongoing and as such, it would not be appropriate to comment at this time.”

ABC in turn issued a statement saying, “In late June, eOne made us aware and informed us that they launched an investigation that is ongoing. The safety of working environments is a top priority for us, and we take this matter very seriously.”

Showrunner Hawley previously told TVLine of Williamson’s most unexpected exit, “It’s not really my place to get into her personal decision.”
