British pop and soul singing sensation Adele is expecting her first child, with boyfriend Simon Konecki.

The 24-year-old singer made the announcement on her website on Friday, June 29.
"I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together," she said. "I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."
The singer has won eight Grammys since 2008, when she was named Best New Artist, and is known for hit singles such as "Rolling In the Deep" and "Someone Like You." The songs are from her second studio album, "21," an autobiographical record that had a breakup theme inspired by her own love life.
Adele first met Konecki, 36, in the summer of 2011. He co-founded the UK-based bottled water company Life Water and also heads its charity, Drop4Drop, which brings clean water to developing countries, according to People magazine.
Konecki has a daughter from a previous marriage,
