I've tried it a few times. Had it a few times with sugar and water. Its quite a potent drink..

I tried it before with sugar melted into a shot tasted like black licorice and I couldnt get the taste outta my mouth so I really dont wanna mess with it again

saw it when i was on vacation in aruba. They didnt have any sugar cubes so i didnt buy any. There are some places you can buy it in the states but people say it is not the same stuff you get out of country.

i recently went to vegas and tried it for the first time

a guy at the bar put me on it...between him and the bartender they were serving us up with this all night (the bartender did do the sugar cube thing...but he also made up his own creations)

i honestly dont know much about it aside from it being banned in europe and the usa for years because it was so strong and the unique experience it put people under....i also heard when it was legal it was very popular among artists because of the special type of infulence it puts you under

i have also heard stories about how the drink and the "green fairy" is big in the swinger community

i have only heard bits and pieces here and there....now that ive tried it im very interested to get more info about it

anyone know where the "green fairy" reference came from?

The green fairy reference comes from the color and the fact that the drink can make you hallucinate. Google it and you'll find some good sites that really break down what absinthe is, how it's made, and why it's been banned. I found a liquor store in my area that sells Le Tourment Vert, and I have to pick t up and see how it is.

speaking of why it was banned...i heard the reason why they banned it was because all the wine producers of the world campaigned to get rid of it because the popularity was growing out of control

i did do a google seach and couldnt find information regarding absinthe and swingers

I read that it was banned beacuse people were commiting crimes and blaming it on drinking the stuff. And I'm assuming the swinging part comes from the increased libido absinthe is supposed to give.
