What's good ladies?
Today, a brother who I looked up to as a kid, called me today to holla at me and ask my opinion about his situation.
We met at a local restaurant to get some grub. Dude broke down and told me some shit that I could not image this brother allowing himself to get into.
The short and quick of it is, on paper his life was a blueprint of how to do it right.
Dude grew up in the ghetto- worked his way out. He has a nice six figure job, property, respected by most of people who knows him, married for nine years with one kid. Anyway, lately his wife put on a little more than a few pounds and he is starting to lose his attraction for her. He talked to her about it but it always end in an argument.
(History: Before he was married, he and his girl broke up over her cheating with some dude she dated in college. Short version, they got back together, had her storybook wedding and everything seem cool- they were on their way. They bought a few pieces of property and had a baby. Two years ago, he found out that his wife still kept in contact with the dude from college for at least three years. She claimed it wasnt sexual and she went behind his back because she knew he would approve.
My man stepped to the other dude- according to him- there was a small altercation but the other dude confirmed that he was talking to the wife and denied any sex. (What else was he going to say?) I injected my opinion and told him that he should have audi. And to do a dna test on the kid. The kid is definately his. But he said it was more omplicated that all that. His baby, their finances and the fact that he is still in love with her. (Love is blind -cut the loses and move on.) Anyway, lately- sex is almost non-existant- going downhill for years. It like twice a month. If he brings it up- she sez she doesn't know what it is but she just does not want sex. They talk about everything under the sun- but they do not talk about themselves and their feelings.
He is suspicious that it is her ex. He has no proof but at this point he wants to cheat. He swore on a glass of Grey Goose that he has never cheated on his wife.
My answer- first- nail out a conversation with his wife and press her on an answer (the truth would be nice- but i doubt if she tells him and if she lies, how will he know.)
Start getting your ducks in a row. Separate bank accounts, whatever is spent on the baby, pay for it with documented proof. Start looking into ways to figure out a fair and equitable split of property and look for her to take 17% of total income before taxes. Since he's been out of the game for more than a minute- don't cheat- some chick out there will open dude right up. Ducks in a row- then bounce. I believe that she is seeing someone- women (and men for that matter) can be trifling like that. I'm sure there is some other stuff going on- and another side of the story. But based on what I know- this is my opinion - whats yours?
