I'm not from NYC but I think I would much rather look at them so-called undercover cops than see them jackass's standing around with full armor and fucking assault rifles staring into space or pretending to be.

Those cops give themselves away because they stop and be people watching,most have a steady fast paste walk be to busy heading where ever their going not giving two fucks about stopping to look,talk,answer questions or nothing like a tourist would do.
