Great info from this video.

Apple's new Thunderbolt 4 USB-C cable costs a staggering $130, more than ten times the price of a generic USB-C cable. But what's the difference between Thunderbolt and USB-C? Adam is joined by electrical engineer Zach Radding to examine Lumafield's CT scans of Apple's cable as well as three non-Thunderbolt USB-C cables to understand the engineering and components that make up these cables.

Only way to justify using a $130 USB C cable is high speed data transfer.

Moving 20GB per second is dope for any USB cable.
The build quality really stood out to me when they examined the components of the Apple cable under the microscope compared to others. There's no doubt about the price difference, but $130 might not be justifiable—perhaps $60 would be more reasonable.
