A 16-year-old male says he killed 12 people in the past three months

SAO PAULO, Brazil (AP) -- Police said a 16-year-old boy has confessed to the slayings of 12 people over the past three months in southern Brazil.

The teenager said he killed his victims in a fit or rage or out of revenge, but police said they believe he killed some of his victims for enjoyment.

Police said they have enough evidence to prove the teenager shot dead at least six of the 12 people he said he killed.

As for his behavior, his environment and upbringing surely played a role. But he also seems to be disturbed, which might have developed anywhere despite his upbringing.
