.40 or 9mm?

I'm debating on which caliber to get for my first..

So far, it seems as if it's a matter of preference.

Any input is appreciated from the fam.

And I cant afford the .45 i want now(Springfield 1911), so these are the only calibers I'm considering.

how did this make its way to the politics board?

if you are going to be carrying on your person, the 9mm.

if you are going to be leaving it in the trunk, the .40
