Two teens were killed and two others were wounded in a shooting outside Benito Juarez High School southwest of downtown Chicago Friday afternoon, police said.

Four students were shot outside Benito Juarez High School southwest of downtown Chicago Friday afternoon, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Spokesperson Larry Langford told CNN that two of the victims are “very critical.”


The students were shot outside the school building, but on school grounds, Langford said. They were transported to Stroger Hospital.


Chicago Police did not immediately provide details on the circumstances of the shooting.

A friend of mine retired from a police department out here in Cali.

He went to a Gang Conference several years ago that was being hosted in Chicago. Police officers from all across the nation were there. He said that someone asked a police captain, "What's with all of the violence and killing in Chicago?"

He said that the captain said, "Unfortunately, this situation is going to have to play itself out. Most of these criminals are crack babies. They are growing up, and they've had no meaningful teaching, nor have they had any positive upbringing. Lives don't matter to them. The situation with them is bad, and we can't do anything but watch them grow up and act out."

My boy was like, "Damn."

man i remember going to school back in the 80s and early 90s.......and you just didnt hear about kids gettin shot at school.....it was an uncommon occurrence. Yeah i had friends that got shot and killed back then......but it was always on the block......never at school.
The only school shooting i can even remember from back then was like in 89.....and that was out in Cali somewhere. After Columbine, this shit just snowballed into what it is today.
