Two of my clients were pretty satisfied with Intuit POS systems. If you are already on Quickbooks, it's almost a slam dunk. I think you can go to your big box electronics store and pick a POS-in-a-box for a reasonable price.

for the computer store i use a POS system we made with Access (it's really not hard to make)

for the phone stores we use a retail POS system we pay monthly for...
