I think most people look at someones outward appearances and passes a quick judgment i.e good/bad friend/enemy etc etc.

I found its best to dress, than yourself better than those around you. I thoughts are if you see me, your mind should ring "professional" and if we engage in any type of business dealing, I need you to continue with that idea.

No one wants to deal with lack luster things or people. If I saw old dude I would be a little concerned too. I'm sure as a stock broker he need to in his career have the polished look. Why not maintain that with just $2000 from that $250,000 he had? :cool:

Them damn cabbies are NOT rollin' past brothas because of some shit that happened in the 70's or 80's, they make up their minds that they aren't gonna serve black folks from day one (Arab and Punjabi bellhops and doormen do the same shit at hotels in the cities). It's mainly the damn "fresh off the boat", piss smellin' Arabs and Indians that pull that bullshit. What the hell am I gonna look like gettin' dressed up to go to the damn grocery store just to sit my "expensive fabric covered" ass in some 4 day old urine stain in the back of some nasty-assed cab and have my expensive clothes smell like old curry and armpit (not of my own doing). I've ridden in cabs where the cabbie LITERALLY smelled like he took a fresh shit in his pants and he's lookin' all funny at me through the rear view.

White folks get cabs dressed in rags with fresh track marks goin' down their arms and Punjab expects me to put on a fuckin' Armani suit to catch a cab, fuck him!

The suit thing DOES NOT WORK, I've been in D.C. stepping fresh out of business conferences dressed form head to toe and had them smelly, ragheaded, beaded seat cushion sittin', rolly fingers mustache wearin', sandals in the winter sportin' fuckas roll by me to pick up some hobo lookin' cracka two feet away from me. I've come out of the baggage claim at the airport and seen them bidi-smokin', slave-tradin', curry eatin', goat herdin', sherpa fucks pull out of line to avoid pickin' me up. Fuck 'em!

When they DO pick me up, they get NO tip, same with the bellhops at hotels, straight STIFFED. They think all black folks are thieves, I think all Punjabi cab drivers are racists and all Arab ones sport jock straps made of TNT. Fuck 'em!

I worked at a hotel in college and watched those bastards snub Catherine Hughes once while they ran all over each other to serve some cracka in a Ford Taurus station wagon. Cracka had them carry like 20 bags up to his room and tipped them $1 each while the brotha that served Catherine got a $500 tip to park her car and carry ONE BAG inside (mainly out of spite because Catherine's peeps saw what was going down). I LOVED THAT SHIT.

I can't recall, but a LOT. My boy is a stockbroker and this cat was his idol WAY before the movie came out. Used to tell me about him all the time, so when the movie came out I was like "DAYUM, I know that story". I always thought it was a cool story, but since it was about a BLACK MAN and FATHER busting his ass and coming up in the world, it would never get told (props to Will Smith). Dude is real down to Earth too, he put my boy down on some info that kick started his career and is real good about helping out young up and coming black brokers. I got mad respect for the bruh because he came up and didn't forget where he came from or how he got there (and that's saying a lot since there are cats on BGOL with college degrees that haven't even found their first decent job yet talking shit on the regular about being self-made). I would figure he's close to 100 million since he made his loot and sold his firm and retired.

I remember one time my wife and I were at the show downtown at night and the bus had stopped running on the street where we lived at the time, so I'm like let's get a cab.

I was gonna tip the cab driver and everything. I told him I was going to the south side and he acted like I said I was going to west hell or some shit. My wife was like come on let's go and I'm like no fuck that, I can pay for the ride and he was gonna get a tip!

I stayed in his cab for 5 minutes waiting for him to pull off and kept telling him the address and he refused to take me and my wife. So we get out and I slammed his door hard as could and told everyone this asshole refused to take me home for no reason.

Low and behold some old crusty ass white lady and equally decrepid husband get in the same cab and this bitch ass fucker drives right off with them.

I reported his bitch ass surely nothing happened.

That's why I say fuck em too.

Well I respect Chris Gardner . He was homeless with a toddler, and he's a millionare now. But it seems he's gotten arrogant, and doesn't seem like the man people talk about when he was down on his luck. Obviously I don't know him, so I can't really say, but that was my impression from this video. I mean he tipped the guy a buck!

I first heard and saw chris gardner on the oprah show and the guy seemed pretty humble but from the video he seems real cocky and arrogant. Just because you have some money doesnt mean you have it any better than the next man. And for all those that said you dont tip the arabs or other foreigners thats why they refuse to pick up blacks, you guys are keeping the trend going. I always tip a nice amount if I feel I have been treated well.

Bruh, folks nowadays don't unerstand the concept of CONTEXT. The ONLY reason that cabbie picked him up was because the white boy was filming a documentary. Gardner is smart and knew that, so he aired punjabi out on camera. May not be "polite", but fuck him, he would have ran over that bruh's foot and kept going if that camera wasn't there.

Can you imagine a WHITE self-made millionaire that tips cheaply and publicly voices the (supposed) injustices in society imposed by blacks and other minorities? I can see that happening in the back of a cab (on Camera), What I CAN'T see, is anyone questioning his/her credibility towards their race afterwards.



Aside from that, there is a huge list of self-made millionaires that are cheap, angered easily, and FULL OF THEIR OWN OPINION. That usually is a personal battle that comes along with having more money than 90% of every American household.
