2025 Chicago Bears Season Thread

Ben Johnson

I'm counting down to when Flus is let go and (hopefully) Ben Johnson is hired.

Flus is a good defensive coordinator but its time to move on. Next coach should be given authority to hire his own staff. The defense is good but the next HC should decide what defense they are going to run. The entire offense needs to be scrapped.

If Flus contract runs through the 2025 season, the Bears cant let this continue.
I'm willing to say I was wrong if they go on a winning streak but I just don't see it.

Its time to move on.

If they go on a run I'd be shocked because they have all those divisional games coming up. They never beat the Packers, Detroit is a SB contender and Minnesota is a good team. This may get even worse.. Smh lol

Makes too much sense.

They had a chance to hire Matt LaFleur in 2018. Nope, went with Matt Nagy. He was a disaster after his gimmicky ass offense got figured out. To his credit, went back home to his safe space and, three Super Bowls later, the Chicago tenure it’s just part of his story (and actually can put in his résumé he lead the Bears to two playoff appearances). Then you go hire Eberflus, a defensive coach, when you have Justin Fields, as you’re starting quarterback, and the same glaring holes and offensive playcalling and on the offensive line that you’ve had for at least three seasons.

So I have no faith that this franchise will ever get this shit right, even when the obvious answer is staring them right in the face.

Yes they have to run a gauntlet. I shudder to think about what that Flores defense is going to do this offensive line.

And now you keep Caleb in the game and he’s walking off limping. Damn game was over, just like it was when Thibs had D Rose on the court when the Bulls were 20 and the fourth quarter with under five minutes to play..

In two weeks, Eberflus looking like he finally figured it out just showing us he maybe more inept than eve.

Poor thangs......

Hope this makes you feel better........

.....hope this brightens your day!!!

They ran at will,..... way to many sacks.....defense was on the field too long.....where was Sweat...Cole? We have 2 pro bowl receivers and Rome.... none could get open??? No time?
:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

So now he's talking responsibility for his mistakes

Too late
He's only doing it because the National media was on his ass about it. Usually they ignore what the local media says but with the National media putting the pressure on the organization, they most likely told him he needs to take responsibility publicly.

Same ol shit with the Bears, most of us knew Eberflus wasn't the guy. You knew you were drafting a rookie QB so you should have lined him up with a new HC. That's how normal organizations do it but not the Bears...Smh! I despise our ownership, they are fucking inept. They buy property to build a stadium and they can't even do that right. Lmao.. Just pathetic!

so now it's going to be the controversy over Caleb's ankle

I wanted to prepare him for the two minute drill

Shit, Poles might need to go too

He's had three years to improve the offensive line
He's improved the overall talent on the team tremendously. He took the job when all that was there was Fields, Montgomery, Jalen and Teven. The line most definitely needs work but the overall team has pieces now.

Apparently the team has never fired a coach with multiple years left on their contract other than Trestman. And as someone pointed out will ownership be filling to break bread and pay Ben Johnson to become coach because he won't be cheap.

Have we had a running back as good as Montgomery since he left?

He got Sweat and Allen, but there's also Nate Davis and Claypool

He's drafted Tyrique, but he also drafted Velus

He had a chance to reset things last year and get a new coach...which everyone was saying. Instead he just got a new Offensive Coordinator.

I don't think he's done that great, but he had no where to go but up

Herbert looked like he had the potential to be the dude, but has not been nearly the player he was as a his first two seasons. To be fair, with this line, Payton would look mediocre. Getting Swift put him as odd man out, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s dealt before tomorrow.
