Someone emailed me ths article... it wasn't a link, so I had to take a screen shot.....

Do you think women would have less problems if they followed the "Good Wife's Guide"

This is nothing if a man is doing what he needs to be doing... Except the questioning his judgment thing. How am I able to question God, but I'm not supposed to question my man?

For the most part feminists have killed the universal meaning of the term "Good Wife's Guide".

Independency and women's right movement has decentralized the meaning of an ideal household/family.

Well, as the article says...1955 way of thinking for the pictured white people. We have never lived by the same standards, nor should we.
:smh:

Sorry, but that's not exactly true. It's called assimilation. I can't speak for everyone, but Blacks, Asians, and Latinos all assimilated into THAT culture, to some degree...for better or worse. I've known dozens of Black fam...Black Republican types...think Carlton Banks. There are brothas JUST like that. Now, if you're questioning, "Should we live by those standards?" I guess that's for each person to determine.

No one should. The ideas are antiquated.

But blacks certainly aspired to live that way in 1955 and beyond, and many did. Whites didn't have a lock on those types of "safe," and sexist, middle class values. Sadly, black male sexism of this sort is still pervasive. Too many continue to limit black women to only two categories, "wifey" or "whore."
