I think the key to eating well (or healthier) is just making it easier on yourself. Always make extra that way you have food on hand in the fridge or freezer ... so you don't have to always prep' a meal or snack from scratch. Dice up additional fruit or vegetables and have them on-hand. Make extra soup, stew, chicken or beef, casserole, whatever, etc. Have them in the fridge or freezer for future meal(s). As they say with the grocery stores ... try to stay on the PERIMETER of the store so you aren't walking up and down aisles buying all the bagged, boxed, overly-processed bullshit that catches your eye. Stick to the other sections so that you're sizing up more of the bulk items, produce, meats & seafood, some dairy (if that's your thing). Also keep an eye out for clearance racks as you can often save 30 - 50% on items that still have a good amount of life on them. Especially with the increase of grocery prices (ongoing). As pops would say - "It takes more discipline to go to the grocery store ... when you can drive down the street & grab a Happy Meal for the price of some lettuce and tomatoes ..."
Also ... everything in moderation. You can always treat yourself with food(s) that aren't as good for you ... just be sure you're consuming WAY MORE healthier stuff than the opposite ...
