Beloved animator and storyboard artist Barry Caldwell has died, according to reports.

Further details of the veteran animator's death remain unclear.

Caldwell, who worked for both Warner Bros. Animation and Disney over the course of his acclaimed career, was behind numerous popular children's films and television shows.

His impressive list of credits include Animaniacs, which aired on Fox between 1993 and 1994, and Pinky and the Brain, which ran for three years following its 1995 debut.

He also was part of the animation team for the 2006 animation Curious George and the 2011 Easter comedy film, Hop.

Other projects that led him to notoriety in the industry included his work as a storyboard artist on The Smurfs, Alvin & The Chipmunks, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Kim Possible, and Tom and Jerry.

Caldwell's death was announced by fellow digital creator Paul Dini, who described his late friend as 'admired' and 'celebrated.'

In a tribute shared to Facebook, he wrote: 'Barry Caldwell was one of the first animation artists I met when I started my career fresh out of school way back around 1980.

I watched this yesterday morning at home that I had recorded on my DVR from last year.

Without going into it, this has to be probably the best documentary I have seen depicting real life combat.

The reporter is embedded with a Ukrainian platoon and is right by there side through out the film. The documentary is filmed as a ‘First Person’ film and has a somewhat ‘Found Footage’ feel to it.

The documentary highlights how Ukraine is using drones for offensive/defensive and reconnaissance operations.

It’s well made and well acted. Sub-titles are used when Ukrainian soldiers talk, but it doesn’t pull your eyes away from what is happening because they leave the titles up for an extended period of time. There isn’t any graphic violence, but what violence is shown makes the point.

This is a award winning documentary, you will be impressed.

2000 Meters to Andriivka
November 25, 2025

9/10

A stunning portrayal of war in the trenches from the Oscar®-winning team behind 20 Days in Mariupol. A FRONTLINE and Associated Press collaboration, this documentary reveals combat bodycam-footage and powerful moments of reflection, following a Ukrainian platoon trying to liberate a village.

The Black Phone
2021

5.5/10

I watched this yesterday morning at home. It recently debuted on Netflix.

Not much to say. The trailer makes it look interesting but the film was basically a slow burn and predictable.

I had to rewind it a couple of times cuz I started daydreaming while watching it.

There is a sequel out. Not sure what it’s about but will watch it in the future….when I get around to it…

Synopsis

Mason Thames as Finney Blake, a kidnapped boy who communicates with the ghosts of his killer's past victims through a disconnected black phone, while his sister (Madeleine McGraw) uses her psychic dreams to help find him.

Nobody 2
2025

5/10

I had seen the first film and watched this one last night at home.

Being I’m the last person to see it, no need to go into it.

It doesn’t hold up with suspense being the audience and the main characters family knows who Odenkirk is.

Action is not on the level as the first film.

If a 3rd film is made, it should focus on Odenkirk’s character origin.

Synopsis

Bob Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell, a retired assassin who is pulled back into his violent past while on a family vacation at a waterpark, forcing him to confront a corrupt operator, a crooked sheriff, and a crime boss.

The Bad Guardian
2024

5.5/10

This is a Lifetime movie that somehow found its way on Netflix and a number of other streaming platforms. I watched it this afternoon at home.

What caught my interest was LaLa Anthony. It’s a basic thriller film with no suspense.

What makes the film unique is that normally a film with this type of related subject matter, they would sometimes have the victims as Black with White folks screwing them over. This film is completely opposite with White folks getting Fucked over by Blacks.

For the Militants, there is a mixed married LM/WW couple, just PDA is shown. White folks are the victims and being terrorized by Blacks.

For the Thirsty, LaLa is still holding up in body/looks. There are a couple of scenes where she is seen from head/toe. Melissa Joan Hart is intentionally made to look like shit. She was at her full weight gain for this film. There are two scenes showing her fullness fully clothed.

If you looking for a decent film to sit down and watch with your girl to score some points with, this film will do.

The film is based on actual events around adult guardianship throughout America.

Synopsis

The Bad Guardian is a 2024 Lifetime movie starring Melissa Joan Hart and La La Anthony, based on real-life cases of conservatorship abuse, about a daughter's fight against a corrupt court-appointed guardian who takes over her elderly father's life and finances.

‘John Wick’ Spinoff About Blind Assassin Caine Gearing Up Production Under Donnie Yen’s Direction

The project, which was announced at CinemaCon last spring, will follow Caine’s story in the events post 2023’s  John Wick: Chapter 4; the hitman freed from his obligations to The High Table. Mattson Tomlin wrote the screenplay, his most recent credits being the upcoming Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II and the adaptation of the Keanu Reeves-created comic book BRZRKR. Michael McGrale also co-penned.

Donnie Yen is Caine in 'John Wick: Chapter 4'
I'm usually the first person to say fuck a sequel/prequel/spin-off, but I'm game for this. Donnie Yen is always a great sign and his Caine character was the best part of that last John Wick movie.

If I'm worried for anything it would be that they'll try to crowbar John Wick into the movie like they did in the Ballerina. That was a good movies, minus them not thinking the character could draw an attention without throwing in random Johm Wick cameos.

This looks pretty interesting.

But I think it would do better released straight to streaming instead of theaters.

And Anne Hathaway is looking SMASH READY!!!

The End Of Oak Street

Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice

I hear a few people rave about a movie and i get excited to see what all of the fuss is about. Unfortunately at times I keep waiting for the moment when the movie is going to fully involve me and I say oh this is why people raved about it. This movie about gangsters, time travel betrayal and revenge has its moments and the three main stars of the movie Vince Vaughn as Future Nick / Present Nick,James Marsden as Quick Draw Mike and Eiza González as Alice have their moments when they make nods to pop culture, share some fun dialogue and have some action packed, blood soaked shootouts. But those characters and situations they find themselves in have a blandnees that's unshakable.Partially due to lacks in chemistry and pacing. Now Keith David as Sosa and Jimmy Tatro as Jimmy Boy steal this movie and I smiled during every scene they were in. Their delivery of lines was on point and we're absolutely funny and then some. I praise Director and writer Bendavid Grabinski for trying to do something different for two separate genres but he doesn't keep it interesting and the plot was far to simple plus with a basic and partially predictable ending.
