UNRIVALED and the WNBA and the NCAAW

Love that the game is this tight.
I'm rooting for The Misties.
But I voted for a Ghost Gang win due to their being more fast and loose.
And Stewie tends to run out of gas quickly.

WNBA star Arike Ogunbowale went from celebrating her Unrivaled championship to posing for a mugshot -- the hooper was arrested after allegedly punching a security guard at a Miami nightclub on Thursday.

The officer made contact with the alleged victim ... who claimed he was attempting to escort 29-year-old Ogunbowale out of the club due to an unrelated altercation -- when she punched him in the face with a closed fist, causing him to fall to the ground.

The alleged victim identified Ogunbowale on the scene ... and she was taken into custody without incident for battery.

Ogunbowale plays for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA ... and is a four-time All-Star and two-time ASG MVP. She's racked up plenty of awards ... even leading the league in scoring in 2020.

She also won an NCAA championship at Notre Dame.

We reached out to E11EVEN regarding the incident ... and a spokesperson said they do not comment on individual guests.

"We are proud that E11EVEN Miami continues to be the location of choice for so many people to celebrate major moments and milestones," the club said. "We were thrilled to have served as the venue for the official championship after party for the Unrivaled champions and are honored that athletes and teams across multiple sports consistently choose E11EVEN to celebrate their victories."

"We remain committed to providing a world-class environment that reflects the energy, excitement, and prestige of those moments."

Andy Slater was first to report Ogunbowale's arrest.

Women’s basketball fans need to understand the bigger picture when Team USA takes the floor.
When the USA Basketball women’s team plays March 11–17, it’s about representing the country — not fan wars.
Guess who might be throwing the entry pass inside? Caitlin Clark to Angel Reese.
Guess who might grab the rebound and start the fast break? Angel Reese.
When defenses focus on Paige Bueckers, guess who might draw attention as the decoy on the perimeter? Caitlin Clark.
That’s basketball. That’s TEAM basketball.
All the online beef between fanbases misses the point. When these players wear USA across their chest, they’re on the same side.
Real basketball fans don’t tear players down — they support the whole roster.
Root for Clark.Root for Reese.Root for Paige.Root for everyone representing the .

Vanderbilt Coach Ejected After Viral Gesture at Officials

The SEC women’s basketball tournament produced plenty of drama Friday night, but one of the most memorable moments came from the Vanderbilt sideline.

Commodores head coach Shea Ralph was ejected during Vanderbilt’s quarterfinal matchup against Ole Miss after a heated exchange with officials in the second half. The incident came during a frustrating night for Vanderbilt, as the team struggled to keep pace with the Rebels throughout much of the game.

By the time tensions boiled over, the Commodores were already facing a steep uphill battle.

A Tough Night for Vanderbilt

Ole Miss controlled much of the game from the opening tip and built a massive lead that at one point reached 32 points.

Things only got more frustrating for Vanderbilt early in the fourth quarter when star guard Mikayla Blakes was whistled for her fourth foul of the game — a call that clearly didn’t sit well with Ralph.

As the whistle blew, Ralph stormed toward the court area and began voicing her displeasure with the officiating crew.

What followed was a fiery exchange that quickly escalated.

Ralph loudly questioned the call before continuing her protest with a blunt critique of the officiating. Officials wasted little time making their decision, issuing the ejection that sent the Vanderbilt coach to the locker room before the game had ended.

I watched this interview when I woke up last Saturday morning doing My Internet/Youtube rounds.

All I can say is...F**KIN' WOW!!!

This is one of the few interviews I sat through without getting off of My couch. Totally honest and captiving was StewYork. And for a White Woman to sit among a group of Brothers and discuss their similarities of Sports and Life together was very awe-inspiring. Especially when Stewart didn't hold back regarding her sexual abuse. Which was shocking in that many victims/survivors tend to not discuss an issue like that in front of Men. Especially Black Men. But She was totally comfortable. ShoutOut to Channing, Ryan, and Fred for allowing Stewart that space to process and discuss.

Stewie's been "My Girl" since her UCONN days. She's only gotten better.

As a 60+ year old Black Male Basketball Fan who's loved the WNBA (along with the ABL) since its humbled beginnings, its great to see the league growing to these new heights. No matter how much some in Sports Media and Ignorant people who claim to be "fans" want to belittle it.

Hell.
I watch more WNBA than NBA these days.

Again,
GREAT INTERVIEW!!!
Shit is a MUST WATCH!!!
