You know what, I never made the connection between Stand by Me and Boyz in the Hood and it is so simple that I'm glad you pointed it out. The question "do you want to see a dead body," Was asked in both movies.

Four young boys on a journey where their innocence ends up getting lost. But two completely different ways. I wonder if that was John Singleton's intent. It's too on point, even to the train tracks to be coincidental

I rewatched both movies in recent months, and I was picking up on the parallels too.

Great stories / movies respectively.

Saw Stand By Me in elementary school with my mom, aunt, and older cousin.
