This looks way better than what I was expecting. This ain’t no ‘Buddy, Buddy’ series.

It’s clear James Gunn is going in a completely different direction with what Marvel has been doing with the MCU and what Zack Snyder was doing with the DCEU.

This shit looks dark and grimey. It definitely has a ‘Breaking Bad’ vibe from what I see in the teaser.

If Paramount comes in and starts Fuckin’ with James Gunn and not let him do what he wants, that will definitely kill the DCU for sure.

Looking forward to this series.

^^^^

I was afraid he was going to make the ENTIRE DCU Gunn-ified. This is very reassuring. I really like this tone. I'm not SURE about John Stewart being played right but based on that trailer I got a good feeling.

Sidebar: I could easily see Gunn leaving though and going most likely back to be Feige future successor at Marvel. I think this merger will not end well.

Crazy thought? Ten years? Marvel gets DC.

Looks dumb and forced. I feel like Dr. Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park....Like, "You are actually going to have Green Lanterns on this Green Lantern show, correct? Hello, Anyone there?"
You kind of damned if you do damned if you don’t. If they show them in the trailer then people complain trailer showing too much. They teas and they not showing enough. Either way they everyone could wait until the show drops to be critical.

Just googled this…..

However, early reports indicated the revamped project would cost less than the initial $120+ million, mult-series, cosmic vision. The series is now an eight-episode, gritty, grounded detective drama

Shit yeah people about to be mad for sure lol.. you about to get a fleshed out story featuring the Lanterns lol.

They gonna be made regardless

If it was super suits galore? its TOO comic booky and complain of too much CGI.

Now THIS (which they still haven't actually seen yet) is TOO grounded in realty.

You never gonna make them happy.

People sh*tted on Peacemaker before they saw one second. Complained Supetman got beat up TOO MUCH but then complain he is too powerful. Remember they thought Penguin was a stupid idea?

Just make the best show you can and f*ck em.

I saw that in the trailer. Still, looks like they are afraid to show the Green Lantern characters looking like the Green Lanterns we know. Instead of giving us a first look of something familiar to comic book fans, they gave us a sneak peak to a gritty buddy cop show that looks closer to "True Detective" than Space Fantasy Sci-Fi.

Hell, even when Hal Jordan took off flying, there was zero green aura surrounding him.

I'm tired of DC trying to make their shows so damned gritty. I liked last year's Superman film because it had color and heart and wasn't afraid to be comic booky. Off the first impression, this felt like a gritty detective show that was made into a Green Lantern series after the fact.

For me it's the first impression. The doesn't feel like a Green Lantern show...and that didn't excite me.
