Anybody personally know someone who has been hospitalized for energy drinks?

Every year during my physical, my doctor tells me to kick the habit. I've improved, but never fully quit them all together. I used to drink 2 Red Bulls before work, and maybe a 5-hour energy shot later in the day around 5-6. Did this for about 5 years and the most that occurred was minor chest pains. Since that time, I only do one every day or so, but decided to never have more than that in a single day.

I feel like my doctor's being overly cautious. Have you ever known someone to be hospitalized for overdoing it w/ the energy drinks?

The only people I know who drink that shit, are white. Baxk in the day I had a coworker who had to go to the ER because he drank a lot back to back.

I had a coworker in the late-2000s who used to drink them like water though. She was in her late-20s and underweight and didn't eat much. Kept a really busy schedule with young kids. She would walk into AM shift having one of the tall Rockstars for breakfast. I casually mentioned to her to be careful. We were allowed to eat at work (i.e. - prep yourself a meal with what was available) and I kinda wished she would eat more on the job to balance out downing energy drinks on an empty stomach. Great worker though ... still friends online. Kind of person who always pulled their weight and never shortcut her job responsibilities.

Yes I know of some people from the job. I had a problem with the shit myself. I would buy them with zero sugar thinking the shit is not too bad you.......the shit is definitely bad for you. Whole family just caught covid right after Thanksgiving. Was a great opportunity to stop drinking them altogether. So far so good.

Get off them shits. Brew up a pot of plain green tea and drink a glass in the morning. Its good to drink before working out also instead of that pre workout bullshit.

I tried Red Bull twice never again that shit made my brain tingle. Literally made my brain tingle.

My boy was drinking them non-stop, ended up in the hospital. Doctors said his blood looked like anti-freeze. They actually asked him if he had been drinking anti-freeze. Almost died. Beware.

Love a cold ass Redbull. But keeping it real... I my caffeine tolerance is so high I really feel like Redbull is a guilty pleasure for the taste. Cause it does nothing to me. I also start my day with a quad shot of espresso and drink 2 cups of coffee when I get home. I also drink an ass of water, so maybe that plays a part.

I know that Bruh who was blowing up on social media, Kevin Samuals,

He used to stay drinking them fuckin red bulls, and he died of a cardiac arrest....

Im not saying it was the cause of his death or not... In not saying he used drugs..

Im just saying red bulls are bad for a real knigga, red bull AND COCAINE

you beggin for DEATH!!!

Damn bro. That’s crazy

Yep. This was when he first moved to ATL around 2005. He was a musician trying to get work so he was up all the time running around the city playing and networking, drinking the green Monster drinks all the time and not getting any sleep. Luckily he was in his early 20's, and his body could still take it. At our age now that's a pending heart attack. :smh:

NOTHING can replace sleep when it comes to my body. I finally came to that realization and finally stopped fucking around. Whew!

Agreed.

I think a lot of times we think we're young and invincible. That we can run on limited sleep / fumes / caffeine.

Like you said - he was in his 20s then so his body was resilient ... whereas trying that now is very risky and detrimental to the middle-aged crowd.

As I was saying earlier in the thread in my previous reply from December ... I'm glad my former coworker discontinued the tall Rockstar energy habit. Seeing her guzzling one of those for breakfast on an empty stomach first thing in the morning was worrisome. As she already had a stressful life & young kids at home. I would have much rather seen her coming to work & having a big coffee there with a bite to eat.

Facts....

Oh okay. Got it. :rolleyes2:

Don't say I didn't warn you. :smh:
Recalls happen, so your friend just so happened to be drinking gallons of those specific versions? If your story is not full of shit post the links with the lawsuit your friend filed and all the news headlines of his blood looking like antifreeze?

Last year or the year before the homie who is a bus driver called me saying his heart was beating abnormally and he thought he was having a heart attack, I said “Fool don’t call me call, pull the bus over and call 911!” Bruh was hospitalized, and he said he had too many energy drinks… :smh:
