EPIX, Godfather of Harlem trailer, Forrest Whitaker, Giancarlo Esposito, Paul Sorvino

Went to a screening last night (Regal Hollywood 24 in Atlanta). EXCELLENT first show - looking forward to the series. Not much more to review about it: Forest is great as usual and their Malcolm X and AC Powell characters were well cast. John Ridley directed this episode so you already know everything about 60s Harlem was on point.

There was a photo booth and the audience received free food and drink and small gifts (deck of cards and bag of dice). They were also giving away gift cards and a LOT of show tickets: Chris Brown, Meek Mill/Future, Disney on Ice, etc.

I watched 3 episodes. Really dope concept but I don’t think they pulled it off. Really shocked cuz I love Forest Whitaker’s work, but I can’t say I love it. Definitely not enough to get EPIX.
