TeamMan said:Introducing "The Rose Rules"
The old Detroit Pistons designed "The Jordan Rules" to stop Mike, and for years it was effective before Phil Jackson and the Bulls brought in "The Triangle" to combat it.
http://blogs.bulls.com/2011/02/warriors-beat-bulls-with-a-plan/The Bulls had seen something like it before...an aggressive trap right over half court against Derrick Rose.
This time the Warriors added a layer to it, a third defender crowding the release men in the paint and then staying with Rose in something of a triple team when he tried to drive. And the result was perhaps Rose’s poorest game as a pro, 14 points, 10 assists and nine turnovers with six of 15 shooting.
“It was weird,” said Rose...“The way they did it, they had someone checking Carlos (Boozer, the pressure release men at the free throw line). Then there was someone right behind him coming over. If I drive baseline, the guy behind him cuts me off. The guy is sticking with Carlos. If I drive middle, the guy on the side comes out and doubles me. It’s something we’ve never seen before, I guess. I just got to get used to it.
“I couldn’t get a feel for the game,” said Rose, who also appeared somewhat uncertain and was making lazy passes. “I just could not get into it. They wouldn’t let me. I couldn’t split (double teams). They dragged it out. Even the pick and roll they trapped. I guess we’ve got to get used to that.
Yes, the Bulls will have to get used to it. Because it's clear that coaches around the league (even more than the years before) and spending hours watching video of Rose, then developing new defensive strategies and spending long times in practices introducing those strategies to their players.
And now (just as it was for Phil Jackson) the pressure will be for Thibs to come up with an offense that helps the Bulls to defeat those special defenses that Rose is going to be facing for the rest of his career.
IMO this will be the last obstacle that Rose will have to face on his way to becoming MVP!

Good Win on the road versus a good team today. Bulls held Deron Williams to only 11 points, but Al Jefferson i.e. the Jazz #1 scorer for the game still managed to get 26. Since Noah has went down the Bull's seem to struggle against big talented Men on the opposing team. Noah still needs to work on his defense, but if you look at his stats over the 3 years that he's played he's actually gotten better each year in stealing and blocking the ball. He's also improved in his rebounding during each year as well. Thats proof that he's growing into something special. Those elements that Noah provides have been missing for the Bulls as of late, hence them not being able to spread out and do other things. FYI...Noah will be back very soon. BTW....Rose has similar improving stats over his short career just like Noah. Both are HOF's in the making. As for Boozer.... he still needs to work on his defense.
But anyways.....
The Bulls were getting killed on the offensive boards during the first half...but stepped up their game in the second. Coach Tom Tibby mustve lit another flame to their asses...lol. Rose struggled a little during the game but still managed to carry the Bulls with his team high 29 points & 7 assist. There was a key steal from Brewer at the end of the game that basically sealed the deal for the victory.
Bulls: 91
Utah: 83
Next match is Saturday versus another good team & another big match up for Rose....Chris Paul & Hornets. If the Bulls can win that one then theyll be .500 for this latest road trip....that'll be a good deal IMO.
GO BULLS!!!!!!!!!
Well.....my Bulls win again today versus a good team.
Our latest victim...the 33-23 New Orleans Hornets.
Rose had his usually 20+ points... along with 6 dimes, 4 rebounds and 1 steal. Boozer contributed 17 points and had 8 boards. Bogans surprisingly poured in 11 points. Brewer helped out also with 9 points 5 boards 1 block and 1 steal off the bench. Kurt Thomas and Asik were our top rebounder's with 11 a piece.
Chicago: 97
New Orleans: 88
The Bulls went 2-2 on this road trip..which is great IMO. They lost 2 straight...coach got in their asses... then they won their next two to bring their record to 36-16.
Next up is a team that we seem to cant beat..the fucking BobcatsDespite the Bobcats record they play some good ball and have beaten some good team this year. Hope the Bulls can pull away with a win when they come back home.
GO BULLS!!!!!
the Bulls will finally get a game on TNT vs. the Spurs this Thursday
Thought they had a few already.
Maybe it was ESPN...
Big game tomorrow. The Spurs are the best team in the league record wise. The Spurs are a well coached team with some great players. Last time we played them we were actually giving them the bizness with Noah minus Boozer, but we blew our lead and lost the game in a close one. The game should be interesting. If we beat them then that means they wont have a shot at beating the Bulls 72-10 record.. Theyre currently 46-9. I Wish Noah was here for this rematch. He's a much better defender and more energetic than Boozer. Should still be interesting. Wish I could go to the game but I have to work. Il be lightening on the radio.

Revenge once again!
We beat another great team once again. This time we beat the best team in the league record wise....the Spurs. Rose had a great game with a career high 42 points, 8 assist, 5 boards and 1 block. Deng had 19 & 7 boards. Boozer had 15 & 6 boards. Brewer had 9 points off the bench and Taj had 2 key blocks. Big Sexy also gave us 9 boards.
Bulls: 109
Spurs: 99
The Bulls are currently 38-16. This is the best first half record that we've had since the Jordan era. The other great thing is that we've maintained at the least the 3rd best record in the entire East and the 5th best record in the entire league without one of our best defenders/rebounder's, Noah. Noah comes back after the break. I think things about to get hotter than theyve been. Next big game after the break versus the overrated Heat.
Hope we can keep the intensity going after the break.
GO BULLS!!!!!!!!
I like his D in the post and on the block against the bigs, in comparison to our other forwards. He doesn't allow himself to be pushed around because of his weight. He is good for the mid-range J, also.
yeah..thats one of the things Noah has to work own. Noah is a great rebounder and good defender already....but He needs to get his weight or strength up and stop being like a Chris Bosh and Paul Gasol down in the hole. Kurt is a great rebounder as well. And can give you some decent points on any given night. But someone is gonna have to get pushed back when Noah comes back and theyll be lucky if they got 1 min per game. More than likely it wil be Asik.
