All this speculation about Sting going to the WWE.......
If and I do mean IF that were to happen .............
Y'all know that eventually the match the folks have wanted to see for about 10 yrs is gonna have to happen right![]()
He should be the man to end the streak...but it won't happen.
Epic Entrance to What should have been the greatest match in WCW history. 18 months worth of build-up ruined by Hogans ego and terrible booking which ended with a terrible finish.....@WCW

I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts. I've read, in a few different places, that the match should've basically been a Sting squash with him beating Hogan for 5-10 minutes, and then getting the pin.
I'm thinking that the described wouldn't have been a good ending. In fact, I would say that what we got in that match (besides the Hart stuff) was actually better.
What do you all think would've made for a good match between those two, given the build up?
I think a Sting squash wouldn't have been that interesting either. A proper match would probably be the way Sting was booked over Jeff Jarrett at Bound For Glory a few years ago: Sting starts strong, falls behind so Hogan can get some heat on him, and he no-sells Hulk like Hulk did countless guys for almost 15 yrs and pins him with the Scorpion Death Drop.
Hell, they could have kept it just like it was EXCEPT Nick Patrick actually does a fast count on Sting and the rest would have made sense.
I watched it on tv live back in 97 and when the regular count happened and Bret jumped in I didn't get why he jumped in. A whole year of Sting coming from the rafters and he just walks out at the ppv. I was let down with the whole thing. PPl waited over a year for Sting to beat that ass.

That list is complete bullshit and they lost all credibility when they put sheamus on there
Sheamus ????? Santino ???????
shit they could of put the New Age Outlaws up there instead of those too. And in my opinion Austin wasn't a better shit talker than The Rock.
Yeah, how did the Outlaws not make the list but those two did?
I got Austin over Rock because he did it longer and he almost singlehandedly talked himself into a babyface and Bret Hart into a heel.
Plus, and this isn't something I particularly like, he started the "What?" chant that fans still do.
For many generations, families around the world have enjoyed WWE. Unfortunately,
as a result of recent political events, some of the media have unfairly and inaccurately criticized the company. Therefore, we are calling on the WWE Universe to speak out and "Stand Up for WWE."

good point. I been seeing all of these Rock greatest quotes and shit on you tube and dude was funny as hell. He had the whole arena doing his "Rocky" chant and hell even when he was heel they were still saying it.
are you going to stand up for WWE well really Linda McMahon ???
Man, the top four(Rock, Flair, Jericho, Austin) I got made is so close. All four men really changed the game the way they cut promos and no matter what side they were on, the crowd was always drawn into the shit they were saying. The Rock could diss a whole town but five minutes later the crowd would finish some of his catchphrases.
On Why He Left WWE:
"I didn't agree with the direction the company was going in. It was geared more toward the PG rating. I fell in love with wrestling again in the late '90s with 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and 'The Rock' Dwayne Johnson … It was edgy, and that was the kind of wrestling I knew and loved. It wasn't like that anymore, and my passion for it died a little bit."
On What He Tells People He Does Now:
"I just tell them I'm unemployed. They look at me kind of funny."
On Getting Punched For Real In MMA:
"I was also a bouncer for 10 years, so I've been punched in the face. I've punched people in the face. It's nothing new to me. As long as somebody doesn't send me into having surgery. I'm fine with it."
On A Possible Return To WWE:
"I'm hoping the cycle will come around again, and it'll get a little edgy and it'll be my time to come back and shine a little bit. I love kids. I'm not anti-kids. I just don't think kids are going to relate to me the same way they're going to guys like John Cena, guys who are, to me, more bubblegum. There's nothing bubblegum about me."

For you guys thinking WWE needs to turn Cena, if they don't do it at Bragging Rights, they'll never have a more perfect opportunity. They have it set up in a way they can put the title on Barrett because of Cena's interference (no way JC works a ppv just standing in a corner) and then turn him and elevate his new good buddy R-Truth.
While I know Vince doesn't watch TNA, many people in WWE mgmt do and them turning Hardy and getting so much buzz from it (including a blip on the ratings chart), the idea may be to overshadow them with a Cena turn.
If they don't, we've already seen this with Michaels-JBL.

~WWE Wants The 4 Horseman In Next Years Hall Of Fame~
![]()
-- As noted earlier, names that remain in discussion for next year's 2011 WWE Hall of Fame in Atlanta during Wrestlemania 27 weekend include Ron Simmons, Lex Luger and Bill Goldberg. There was also interest in inducting the Four Horseman as a group, but that would only depend on Ric Flair's availability and if he wasn't still signed with TNA after this year. The same discussion was made about Sting, but that again depends on his contractual status with TNA.
Since Wrestlemania will be in Atlanta, this is going to be an NWA/WCW Hall of Fame
