"I think James Toney is going to get his ass kicked. For real. James Toney is out of his league."

"When you step out into a situation where, against a legend too in his own sport. I believe, and I'll go on the record, that the best MMA guy or UFC guy go up against the best boxer in the world in their arena, in their arena gets their ass kicked. I don't care who it is, whether Floyd, Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins, they get they ass kicked. That is not what we do."

:lol:@BHop.. Well find out in the first 10 seconds. If Randy even stands with Toney for a slight moment, it's lights out.

The only reason I give Toney a chance at all is become Randy doesn't normally shoot for his takedowns, but I'm sure he will make an exception this time.

Randy's gonna do to Toney, what Sonnen did to Silva. And Toney has no jiu jitsu to save his ass at the last minute. I doubt Randy will knock him out, though. The ref will stop this due to ground 'n pound strikes.

Atually it may be like that time when Couture was on Pros vs. Joes. The guys had no submission defense and he stretched them. It could very easily end in a submission victory for Couture.

i read on another board that toney gonna come into the fight weighing 290

i still give toney a puncher's chance

No, he said 219, not 290. Plus the max you can weigh is 265.

:hmm::hmm: He was only knocked out once and that was by Chuck Liddell. The fight against Brock was a ref stoppage.

Randy got dropped by Brock with a glancing punch and got his brains scrambled earlier with a shiv elbow. Vera hurt him a couple of times as well.

Brock stunned him with a shot and then got a TKO with strikes. And Vera had him hurt but Randy was putting some hurt on Vera as well. Everyone acting like he got a glass jaw. Liddell was a heavy hitter back then. Most if not all of us would get stunned or knocked out by Lesnar's big ass fists.

Toney got power but he is use to a mother fucker standing there or trying to run away while covering up. But how is he gonna react to throwing shots while also trying to defend the take-down and being thrown against the cage?

That's the thing, if any blows are exchanged it's lights out for Randy. A boxer on Toneys level doesn't think, it's pure reaction.

Did you read what I said? Doesn't matter what level Toney is on if he has no expereince with what he could be dealing with. Everyone knows how he is in a boxing ring and he had most guys shook. Randy's not gonna be one of those guys because in MMA and UFC, that's his turf and home.

How is Toney gonna adjust to a guy coming at him that knows how to take him down and avoid damage while doing it? Everyone claims it's lights out if Toney connects. Well what happens if Toney misses and next thing he knows, he is on his back with Randy on top of him?

Many questions that need to be answered, will be answered come August, 28th.

Not that I'm saying Toney is gonna win(which he probably won't), but does everyone understand that Randy's damn near 50 years old? Toney has a little more of a punchers chance just on the strengh of that.

Dog, did you read what I said? If he punches him that's it, end of story, Randy cannot survive a exchange with Toney..period. If he takes him down of course Randy wins.

My point was Toney's punches wont be less effective because he is worrying about takedowns, it's all muscle memory at this point for him. He doesn't have to think, even if he is worried about the take downs, his punches will still be the same cause it's all reflexes for him.

Maybe so but Toney has to hit him first. It would be lights out if Toney connects. Randy may not be known as a striker but he knows more than a boxer when it comes to MMA where you can use punches, kicks, elbows, knees all to set up the take-down. We can go on and on but things will be answered come fight night.

Don't even speak to me because you don't know shit about what you're talking about. Randy may be damn near 50 and is still fucking up dudes 20 years younger than him. And strength and power are two different things. Toney has more power in his hands but strength, I still have to give to Randy who is a great wrestler that trains on pure strength and quickness. We don't know how strong Toney is in that sense until we see him fight.

I think we will have the answer in the first 30 seconds of the fight.

II know that no matter how much you train dickhead, you can't beat father time. I also know that the last 2 years he was KO'd, beaten in a war(which takes it's toll), blessed w/ a win and then matched up w/ another fossil. I may not know as much about MMA as you(even though I probably do), but I know Toney has age and geneticson his side along w/ a punchers chance. The only piont I was making. I still got Randy in the 1st(sub), but I aint sleeping on "lights out", and anyone who really knows about fighters(or has seen his body of work) wouldn't either.

With that first sentence it sounds like you're catching feeling. All good though, since you want to act like you know something, I'll school your ass real quick before you come up with more excuses. Correct, Randy suffered two bad losses to top 10 heavyweights. Correct, he was in a war with Vera that everyone argues was a loss.

Toney having age, that really doesn't matter to a point. He has been in wars too and alot of people who pay attention to boxing know that Toney hasn't gotten smarter down the road after these fights. What you must understand is that when you start to age and slow down, great fighters learn to evolve and adapt unlike Chuck Liddell and Roy Jones Jr.

Everyone has a punchers chance in either sport. Hell, Silva almost lost his title but picked his spots like a champion. Toney could have the same impact and just beat the shit out of Randy for two rounds. That's another thing. Boxing has two minute rounds compared to five minute rounds in mma. Don't think thats a difference? Wrong, because you have to push your body those extra minutes and you're doing more work with defending strikes, take-downs, submission, trying not to get pinned against the cage all while trying to work your own strategy.

I'm far from sleeping on Toney but this isn't the first time people have said this about boxers or guys with unbelievable knockout power. Kimbo came in and and flopped against trained guys and had next to no cardio. Point is, I want to see Toney do better than people who have come before him. But his approach will only make things worse. Calling out Lesnar, claiming he deserves top fighters when he hasn't proven shit. All that talk means nothing when it comes to stepping in that cage.

You obviously never laced a glove up in your life brah. For one thing boxing is 3 minutes per round not 2(unless you're watching Laila Ali:lol:) and you try holding up 12oz. gloves for 12 rounds along w/ getting hit, held and rabbit punched by someone who has trained to do the same. And the adapting isn't what changed RJJ(Roy Jones just in case), it was age and drastic weight loss. Liddell has been getting KO'd for years(he just makes good fights). Funny thing is that boxers(washed up ones at that) have had at least some success in MMA, while not one MMA fighter has been able to cross over. You must have no idea the level of cardio professional boxers(especially light heavy and lighter) go through during training. You pretty much destroyed your credibility when you mentioned Kimbo, a backyard brawler w/ no legitimacy to his record , as a boxer. And Toney never had devastating power, but he's one of the most well rounded boxers of all time and to me that counts as someone not to be slept on.

Just a side note... Funny how even Dana White knew that his most talented fighter couldn't handle a (then)39 yr old RJJ if it was sanctioned as a boxing match. Hmmmmm...

Ok, caught me on a typo congrats. And are you mildly retarded? The reasons you just listed RJJ for failing is what I said Randy does different. Age caught up with his ass and he didn't know it and still tried to fight like in his prime. Randy does not do that. Same with Chuck Liddell. He can still bang with some of the fighters but can't fight like how he use to or he gets results like he did with Rampage and Evans.

Now on another thing, did I once say Kimbo was a boxer? No I said he was one of the people that everyone hyped up who would change the game because MMA fighters supposedly never saw power like his.

As for Toney having devastating power. Maybe not but he has enough to do damage to anyone standing up. I can not deny that and won't. Like I said, not sleeping on Toney, just don't see anything special. And you want to bring up Dana White and RJJ? Really? Are you some kind of child or something to really think White was afraid? Why would he have his top fighter do such a thing where he could possibly get hurt and therefore could hurt the company and also questions the mind of White. He had nothing to prove there.

For the record, Liddell stretched Couture out 2x.

Still gotta go with Randy, unless JT has serious ground technique ...which I doubt.

I still want to see an elite MMA fighter box an eliter boxer in a boxing ring...MMA guy will always have a puncher's chance.

Randy should have this in the bag but I will be doing this  if James knocks Couture out

I still think a MMA fighter would lose but one guy I wouldn't mind seeing give it a try is Nick Diaz. All MMA fans know this dude is no joke with his hands and might put up alittle fight.

he has good Boxing for MMA but any elite Boxer from 160-175 would own him.....

Martinez, Ward, Dawson, Bute...

For what?? That's even more of a slaughter than a boxer going into the octagon..
