I gave it a listen, nothing too special, but to each their own.
If he can sell out venues on the level of Jay-Z, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presly, Sammy Davis Jr, and a litany of other American artists, i'd give him a listen. And never mind here, i'm talking internationally. These artists sell out stadiums with ease overseas. Not to say that this cat can't, but he can't rival numbers that Jay-Z has embodied worldwide as of now.
For now, he's still an unknown international star in the country where music and movies is king.
I gave it a listen, nothing too special, but to each their own.

Here we are measuring the quality. Werrason has better musicians, has better dancers, has better music, and has come farther than the priviledged American musicians had to come... He dug himself out of a hole as deep as that the likes of Louis Armstrong and King Oliver had to climb out of at the beginning of last century....

Back to the matter at hand....
Some of my in-laws are close to the indian fellowship, and they can attest the beauty that is American music. Ravi Shankar is a solid artist, one of the greatest the world has ever seen, but entertainment (Keyword) is more than just music. Entertainment is the show. The package. And this particular artists you're speaking of is simply not commercially appealing in this country, let alone #1 in the world.
This is why African, and Indian music will never prosper from it's realm.
Bollywood and Nollywood are not taken seriously in the entertainment industry because they are mere shells of what we in the American entertainment industry do. I should know, I work in it.
And a DJ by trade that studied world music in school. Be it African, Celtic, Brazilian, Oriental, Polk, etc... I know music. There's nothing you can teach me here. The rhythms are average, and nothing mind blowingly spectacular to appeal to billions of people worldwide.
I can play these same rhythms with my hands on my desk without missing a beat.
It is what it is.

If not for contractual terms, i'd leak some of this nonsense out, but to the artists credit, I won't entertain that thought, especially to prove an already factual point to someone who placed a relative unknown as the world's #1 entertainer.
