At The Rate He's Going Statistically - And Assuming He'll Win Multiple Rings...

This right here.

Jordan had something to prove EVERY NIGHT. He knew you set the tone from game one. I keep hearing LeBron talking about wanting to be a global icon. Dude needs to worry about being the best player he can be and the rest will follow.

Lebron love himself more than the game and he's entitled too that's why I'm so sure on him coming to NY

Neither Kobe, KG, or Perk came in from game one as a player that was already a star from the first game. Those guys also had vets to learn from. You have to learn how to be a pro. Coming to play with the right mindset every night. Learn how to be a leader. If you team sees you goofing off during the game, they'll want to do it. Maybe you can goof off a little and pick your game up a notch at will, but the other players can't.

That's the stuff I'm talking about. These young dudes come in super rich and super famous so early that it's hard to motivate them.

I can agree with all that but that has nothing to do with whether they come from high school or college. Most high schoolers aren't ready-made stars like LeBron was. Most of them at the end, came in with little fanfare.
I do think motivation is lacking. That's why I say losing will either toughen them up or send them out of the league. Either way, the league benefits.

He played like that EVERY game though. That is the shit that tripped me out. He didnt just get up for playoff games. I used to go to all the Pistons games back in the 80s and early 90s and Jordan played 100 percent every fucking game. Even off the ball, he was always moving..always active... dude was 100 percent intensity all the time. His mind and will power were really unparalleled...fuck the athletic ability.... this mental game and basketball IQ were superhuman...

I used to laugh when I heard J talking about "love of the game." It's clear to anyone who watched him that that Negro played with HATE. He hated to lose, he hated his opponents, he hated when cats thought that they could play with him.

On a related note, I read that after the Bulls won in '92, Jordan was still seething about people thinking that Clyde Drexler was his rival. When they were both selected to the Dream Team, he would shit on Clyde so hard and so vocally in practice that Magic had to pull him aside and basically say, 'Look, you guys are teammates now. You need to lay off.'

These Kobe-lovers just don't know. That cat Jordan was a fucking cyborg, man. :itsawrap:

MJ was/is an asshole but it made him a great player.

That's why that nigga hated Reggie Miller. Miller gave him no respect. Reg didn't give a fuck about no Michael fucking Jordan. I bet Mike still wouldn't piss on that nigga if he was on fire.

All these "ifs" thrown around. The man has not won one single ring yet. Not to mention, Kobe started his career coming off the bench. LeBron has been the central focus of his team since he has been in the league. The comparison is not there yet, other than the fact that they play in the league together at the same time.

Why do ninjas by pass this fact is beyond me :smh:

Kobe has a great chance to pass Jordan in rings, all he need to win is 2 more

:lol::lol::lol:

Jordan had some sick shit running through his mind man. I remember he dropped 45 on this cat because people were saying that he was a Jordan-stopper.... the only problem is that the shit wasnt true. Jordan admitted that he made the entire story up to give himself extra-motivation. I seriously think Jordan has some type of pyschological disorder. Youre right though... He had a serious problem with losing... one cat said that Jordan was cheating in a game of cards against the dudes mom because he didnt want to lose... that he beat Jordan in a game of pool and Jordan wouldnt talk to him until they played again and jordan beat him :smh::smh::lol:

I'm bout to bring it so hard that you might not be ready for it; For the sake of discussion, let's table the disparity in Kobe/Jordan. Assuming he wins 8 championships, he will still ALWAYS ONLY be a contender. Why? Cause white people will NEVER love him the way they love MJ. MJ might have been fucked if there was a facebook/twitter/************ in his day. You didn't start seeing a bunch of pictures of him with a bunch of white bitches until he had damn near hung up his sneaks.

Kobe damn near went to jail for fucking a white bitch in the booty.

OK, so back on the primary topic. If Lebron comes to Chicago and proves he can fill those shoes, he might get some consideration. Why? Cause I fuckin said so! :D

:lol::lol::lol:

That cat has got a serious problem, man :smh:

the crazy part about this is that the interview was years ago...and one of his sons was talking about a game he played against Mike when he was like 11 (so mike must have been like 35) and he was like I made a shot and said something to my dad and he didnt like it.... so he swatted my ball on the next play and then dunked on me hard and stood over me like..what you go to say now..:smh::lol:

shit got me thinking of that Jordan dunk on Ewing...mofo doing that shit to his own sons...yelling and shit :lol::lol:

I mean, this cat dunked on his own fucking children.

"I wouldn't want to be you guys if I had to.." :lol:

Like that skit when Dave Chappelle plays a video game against the dying kid in the hospital..

that's how you make em a man!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

my dad did the same shit to me so i know how his kids feel. when i wanted to play baseball my dad was like ok let's go. we go to the park and this muthafucka (rest his soul) is throwing me heaters and high and inside and im only 10. he's like either hit it or don't play we can go home. and when it was my turn to pitch he'd smack my shit out of the little park and run around the bases every time :lol::lol:

when i wanted to play basketball (that was his sport) we'd play each other and he'd just totally ruin me. talking all the shit in the world. saying shit like ill never beat him i need to grow up get tougher be stronger:lol::lol: he'd hit jumpers all in my face he'd sit down he'd dunk he'd do all the shit he could. he'd call every call and he'd swat my shit. when i got older he never let up ever and it made me into the man i am today stand up and strong

even on his death bed i remember we were in the hospital he has tubes in his throat so he can't speak so he has a pad and pencil. keep in mind he has little time to live ( he passed away the next day) he writes down want to arm wrestle? so i give the nod like yes i'm ready. so he somehow gets his arm up and gets it into position and i get mine...we arm wrestle on his damn death bed:lol::lol: of course i could've beaten him and if it was anyone else in the world even my own mom on that death bed i wouldve smashed the arm down in victory and celebrated..but because it was him i struggled for a bit and then let him win. he fucked looks at me winks then has the nerve to flex his muscle like "look i told you, even when i'm near death i'm still the best"

sorry bout turning it into that but damn that just brought the memories back...damn i miss my pops

You know who I respected too... even though he would talk shit to Jordan respectfully ... Steve Smith....he would talk shit to Jordan...

but Reggie aint give a fuck :lol:

The thing about Reggie was he talked just as much shit as Jordan and backed it up too. Reggie was 2nd in clutch behind Jordan.

Oh yeah ninjs don't remember when Steve Smith in his rookie season posted Mike up on the baseline gave that nigga the quick spin and yanked it on Mike's ass :lol:

that's how you make em a man!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Props... and great stories with you pops man..

I can understand bringing that competitive spirit... but the way he told the story, it was like Mike really took the GET UP comment personally...and he started going hard like it was game 6 in the finals and shit :lol::lol: it was like, he wasnt even about winning anymore.... like he felt disrespected that he son not only scored a basket but had the audacity to couple it with a comment....he went into detroy mode...it wasnt enough for him to just BEAT his 11 year old son....he had to humiliate him in the process... Mike got problems man :lol:

Yep.. Reggie would bring it...he didnt give a fuck.

Yep... Steve got Mike nice and clean with that spin and yoked out... but he would occasionally talk shit to Jordan... but I think he was more like.. I respect you and all...but Im still gonna be me...im not your bitch.....but you could still still tell he admired Jordan

But Reggie really didnt give a fuck though :lol:

Reggie probably hit that 3 in the Eastern Finals against the Bulls and told Jordan after he pushed up to end that game...... Tough Break Nigga!!..

You can't divorce major insecurity or some sort of psychological disorder from what makes someone as competitive as Jordan. Their is no good reason why someone should want to win THAT badly.

However, take that away, and Jordan is no longer Jordan. It's like how you don't become a multi-millionaire or billionaire without an insatiable thirst for green. Of course, I'm talking about self-made rich/wealthy...

...but it's rarely a case of, 'I just did what I love, and it was successful" like many like to claim. No, your ass just craved money.

Yep. Ive read books about Steve Jobs and he has been medically diagnosed with a couple of psychological disorders. It helps him get results but dude is supposedly a nightmare to deal with day to day.

I dont think Michael Jordan was a normal human being. That is why most players shouldnt be compared to him. Even Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson, two hypercompetitive individuals, said they had never met anyone like Jordan.. who had a single-purpose and unwielding allegiance to the pursuit of winning...where it wasnt the #1 thing in his life..it was the ONLY thing in his life..

But what makes is clear that Jordan has real fucking problems is that his competitive nature goes well beyond basketball. I know most athletes are competitive individuals... but the stories of simple stuff like Jordan losing at a game of tunk and literally not talking to people for days are so numerous that you know dude just clicks differently than the rest of people.

Look at his retirement speech... you could tell he was still visually disturbed by not making the varsity team as a sophomore or about scouts calling other players better than him...to the point that 20 years later, he was still using that as fuel.. that he might have been dropping 50 on you that night...but he was thinking about some shit someone said 20 years ago... :smh::smh::lol:

that type of competitive nature is just insane..

:lol::lol::lol: i know and that's how my dad was

he thought he could win in whatever it was. he was saying shit about my mom (his wife) saying shit bout my gradnma (his mom) "yo momma can't save you yo grandmomma can't save you jesus can't save you from this boy. you don't like me dunking on you stop it! if you can't stop it accept it!" i hear it clear as day.i mean literally kill mode :lol::lol: i remember he went up for a three and i was so angry i pushed my dad while he was in the air....i mean 2 hand shoved him with all my might (i was like 13) he shot it flailed his arms in the air landed hard on the concrete slid skinned his arm all up...got up and said "you see? its useless even when you push me with your body my will is stronger and the shots will go in" but that's where i get my kill mode from now so i appreciate it. at the time i was just mad i was like jesus shuttlesworth out there while my dad is breaking me down in every aspect. no apologies either and my mom is like don't do the boy like that!

:lol::lol::lol::smh::smh:

"either you hit it adapt or we go home and you go to bed. you better not move off the plate! crowd that shit! if the ball hits you it hits you you're stronger than a ball don't be scared of it crush it. don't move for no man for nobody if it doesn't make sense to you, in everything that you do feel like you're the best and you're unstoppable and go at without fear otherwise you might as well go home."

LeBron will never be J. And I say that as one of his biggest fans. 2 totally different players in 2 totally different eras. He may show glimpses of J's dominance, he may wear his # but Jordan he is not. But from day 1 Ive always said, HE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE. He needs to keep establishing his brand and follow his own path instead of mimicing Jordans. Thats one thing that has hurt Kobe's legacy. Thats a guy who at 18 years old as a bench player the league put the burden of him being "Jordan's successor". :smh: He's been chasing that legacy his whole career instead of establishing his own. And thats a big reason why some of his fans want his shit to be so "storybook" and have to revise history or embellish his accomplishments. They want him to live up to that, but no one can. LeBron and his handlers would be fools to try and embrace that. He needs to make his own mark and not be concerned about doing what Jordan would do to a tee.

You had a good dad man.

thanks man i appreciate it. think bout him every single day and i'll never get over him not being here. but no sadness just reflect on happiness and i hope im half as good as he was whenever i have a kid.

:lol::lol::lol: you just don't understand. it was so much fun luckily i got his personality cause i relished in the fact that it was always competitive. i didn't cry i wasn't a momma's boy so it was so much fun

he bought me killer instinct for super nintendo. he wanted to play. i destroyed him with cinder did the ultra and everything and when the ultra starts he screaming "fuck! fuck! no! no! noooo!" and i drop the controller like i just got domino and go up to him and switch from ear to ear doing the little echo voice in his ear like "ultraaa!! ultraaaa! ultraa!!!" hit the cinder pose at the end and was happy...

he unplugged the super nintendo and proceeded to fucking play that shit for 2 weeks straight after work until he got good enough to win every now and then and once he won that was it for the night. lose 80 in a row and then win 1 and say goodnight see boy told you

Yeah.

People wanted Kobe to be Jordan so badly, and I think Kobe took on the challenge himself, not realizing that you can't be Jordan unless you ARE Jordan.

What do I mean?

Kobe thinks almost completely different than Jordan. Jordan would not hoist up the shots that Kobe shoots, and especially not at some of the times he shoots them.

Jordan had flair without a doubt, but I think Kobe is constantly in high-light mode when it shouldn't be that way. He is constantly trying to rip your heart out in the most spectacular way possible.

I've seen this dude try some of the most ridiculous shit at some of the most inopportune times that it has led me to believe that the dude is really psychotic on some level.

I compare him to Pistol Pete. While Kobe's flair for the game is different than Pisto's, their is still that need to hoist up tons of challenging shots, game after freaking game. I've seen Kobe go a game or two, or stretches through a game trying to play the 'right way' and he will be very efficient, shooting a high percentage with few turnovers...

...but we all know that shit does not last long. The ability to be a more efficient player is there, but it's as if he feels he is cheating himself by not playing the game the way he does.

He came in the league with this mentality, and it remains to this day. Even Jason Williams killed his high-wire act years ago, but Kobe is still playing high-risk basketball despite the fact that his team would benefit tremendously from low-risk basketball on his part.

Oh, well.

It's his high-risk game that made me a fan, so I can't complain too much. I just wish he was more like Jordan, and pick the times when he'll add a little pepper.

Cosign all the above....and once that epiphany hits(it took a long time for me I admit).. you can appreciate Kobe for what he is... you just need to pull him away from that Jordan standard.

Peace Les,

To answer your first question, if Lebron wins 4 or 5 in a row (TREMENDOUSLY unlikely) and continues his statistical dominance, he'll be right in the conversation with Jordan and Russ and the GOAT.

To answer your second, if Kobe wins seven, two categories of people will put him in the GOAT discussion: a) his diehard supporters and b) ESPN: The Now Network. I don't think any serious basketball fan will give a cat who's never shot for 50% in his entire career, and played Robin to Shaq's Batman for his first three rings, is going to lend Kobe that title.

I mean to be fair he was what 20-21? maybe 22? Playing with one of the best EVER :dunno:

I mean for Kobe to be runnin in the same race as Shaq is a compliment if anything ... D Wade won the Finals MVP iirc well deserved too imo but you NEVER hear his name come up with Shaq ... for SOME obv reasons ... but the point is Robin or not he has a right to those rings .... might be batman and robin but it wasn't batman and ALFRED :lol:

Also I am not sayin he is in the same league as Jordan as an icon and BOSS player ... but when you talk about the greatest ever in the NBA with 7 rings he is gonna get some burn.... trusss
