Are The Basketball Gods Punishing LeBron & Cavs?

The title of the email I received at 1:30 AM Central (I don’t sleep) was very ominous, it only read:
“Basketball Gods”

It had a link to a YouTube video (the one you should be watching above) and that was it. No opinion, no ranting, and no telling me how great I am (I am still waiting on that email). Just the link to the video.
So I go to watch the video, which is from April 17, 2009 and features clips from a regular season game against the Celtics and a quote from Ray Allen.
The Cavs are shown clowning around – and here is what Allen had to say:
“I’m always going to remember that”, Ray Allen said “If I beat a team as happy as I may be in victory. I’m always going to stay humble and always remember there is another day. We play each other too much, these are great motivational thoughts for me.”
If you follow me during the NFL season you know I am a big believer in the “Football Gods.”
In layman’s terms they keep the scales balanced. They favor the bold and punish the weak. The Football Gods love to dish out karma. I believe to this day the Football Gods are still punishing the Patriots for “Spygate” – letting them go 18-0 before losing the Super Bowl, Brady’s knee, missing playoffs after going 11-5, 4th and 2, Welker’s knee injury in meaningless game, etc.
Is it possible that the Basketball Gods are punishing the Cavs for being a bit to “giddy” from time to time?
I don’t think there is anything wrong with having fun, but twenty seconds into that video Mo Williams is reacting like he just found out Beyonce was leaving Jay-Z for him.
This is the same Mo Williams who in 2009 had one of the worst postseasons of any second fiddle in NBA history and when LeBron refused to talk to media, was left crying trying to explain what went wrong.

The Basketball Gods are in favor of being humble, especially if you never won anything. The Cavs take their cues from LeBron, so when LeBron acts like a kid, they act like kids.
The question begged is whether a “fun bunch” can win a NBA title?
Most championship teams have two things in common; they are no nonsense and have a stable coach whom the players respect.
The Cavs are a “fun bunch” with a coach no one respects in Mike Brown.
Mike Brown should know his team better than anyone, meaning he should know their flaws better than anyone.
But we all know the truth – LeBron James is the coach of the Cavaliers, which is why the Cavs are allowed to do some of the things they do. Do you think anyone is going to tell LeBron to stop dancing?
On the flip side – do you think Phil Jackson would let Shannon Brown go dance with the Laker Girls during a timeout? How about Greg Popovich?
The Cavs had the best team record in 2009 and lost to the Magic in a series almost everyone had them favored in.
The Cavs had the best team record in 2010 and are on the brink of being eliminated by the same team they are mocking in the video.
Coincidence, you tell me?
Game 6 will tell you a lot about LeBron and the LeBronettes.
It is easy to “Two Step” as a frontrunner; it is a lot harder to do after someone punches you in the mouth. I equate it to what happened to Floyd Mayweather, Jr. against Shane Mosley.
Floyd got rocked in the second round and was holding on for dear life (Game 5 of Cavs vs. Celtics); later in the round he was caught again, his knees buckled and it appeared he was on his way down (Game 6 of Cavs vs. Celtics).
Mayweather, who talks more trash than anyone in boxing and proclaims to be the best ever, had to make a decision to either back up the talk or to go down. Mayweather steadied himself and put on a brilliant performance on his way to another victory.
The Cavs are about to take that second punch and the question being raised is whether they’re just all talk (or dance, if you watch the video) or can back up their boasts.
I guess we will see Thursday night.
Preview of tonight?:dunno:

punishing? no
they're a bunch of immature players that's all. they believed what everyone said and thought that everyone was going to roll over and let them go to the finals since the pundits said so and since they won 60 games. they found out that the teams in the playoffs dont give a fuck about that and that nothing is handed it has to be earned.

edit: i dont have a problem with the stadiums guys sound effects, they do that in support of the home team in every stadium

There's nothing wrong with celebrating, but there is such a thing as winning with class....

I prefer the Ray Allen way....

I c/s the Ray Allen quote,, The cavs are some cocky ass faggots lead by Lebron James and no matter where he goes he won't win shit..

Far too long these coaches from the high school level up to the NBA with stern and cavs management letting Lebronz run shit and be a spoiled fuckin brat... its about time he is knocked off his high horse and given humble pie so he can realize its cats in the league and cats who never been drafted just as talented as he is that stay humble and play ball..

His bitch ass will forever be in Wade and Kobe's shadow.

I aint been watching but are the Cavs still doing all that dancing bullshit before the games against the Celtics especially game 5???

doc needs to play this video for the Celtics today:yes::yes:...Mo Williams is an idiot acting like a 15 year old on the bench.

coming from where he came to the success he is seeing, wouldnt u feel like a chosen one too?

No. That's just EGOMANIA run wild. He's not that special in terms of achievement (especially given his physical gifts), and even if he was, it's shameful and self-dsestructive to brag about it. He's no more "chosen" than Gabourey Sidibe, Wynton Marsalis or Barack Obama.

:lol::lol::lol:the team i've rooted for my whole life is on the verge of a epic upset, and yet you niggas are the ones who are mad.

cmon man
king is because his last name is james
king james
the bible
nobody said hes the greatest ever but he is arguably the best right now.

cmon man
you know good and well the majority of people dont call him king because his last name is james you know good and well most people dont even know who king james is.
and you're wrong on that one, i've seen people on tv call him the greatest ever already. and people already have said he will be the greatest. same people saying he'd win at least 7-8 championships too.
right arguably the best means he isnt the best. if he was there wouldnt be an argument. again dont mistake me pointing this stuff out for me being a lebron basher or hater cause i dont hate him. i hope he does win, i hope he does win multiple times. simple fact is we're treating him like he has won and he has not.

i was the same way with kobe needing to see him win one without shaq. he did it now there's nothing left to say. lebron has to atleast win one man before we are all witnesses

show me where he was called the greatest ever:hmm:

I am the last to cast blame at my black coaches, but this wasn't Lebron James' fault it's the coaches. James is a ball player and mentally has shown he is still just a BOY (ESPN hasn't shown him how to be a man yet). So to expect anything else from him besides childish behavior would be a mistake.

It is up to the COACH to keep his players in line. To stop them from clowning too much on the sideline, damn sure to stop players from dancing with the cheerleaders and most importantly, from "showing up" the opposing team. I guarantee you Byron Scott would have deaded that shit with the quickness.

Nothing wrong with having fun in that fashion AFTER the game. But while salty vets like Garnett are watching is pretty fucking stupid

coming from where he came to the success he is seeing, wouldnt u feel like a chosen one too?

that's not the argument to make there. cause if that was the case pretty much everyone in the league should feel that way too coming from tough backgrounds and making it to the nba is not an uncommon thing man. you know it and i know it.

:lol::lol::lol:the team i've rooted for my whole life is on the verge of a epic upset, and yet you niggas are the ones who are mad.

 nobody's mad if anything i hope you guys can pull it off. i dont like when the media turncoats on its beloved ones like they just did lebron. so maybe if you guys come back they can all eat crow. now is it gonna happen? i dont know but i know im not mad either way:lol:
