Scottie Pippen........HOF?

Well i guess the answer ie yes, since he's being inducted along with Karl Malone this year, but the question is.........do you agree?

Friend of mine argued these pionts which I thought were pretty good.....

The most obvious one is that he had Jordan on his team

Him having 6 championships shouldn't be a benchmark for HOF candidacy, otherwise other role players like Kerr would also be in there. Malone being inducted is a good example of rings not having much of a factor.

Should his defensive skills be the reason? Because.........Here are the guys ahead of Pippen in career steal percentage

1. Alvin Robertson 4.12
2. Quinn Buckner 3.79
3. Nate McMillan 3.75
4. Micheal Ray Richardson 3.68
5. Mookie Blaylock 3.46
6. John Stockton* 3.46
7. Doc Rivers 3.28
8. Fat Lever 3.23
9. Maurice Cheeks 3.18
10. Michael Jordan* 3.13
11. Doug Christie 3.07
12. Ron Artest 3.01
"I guess all theses guys should be in the HOF as well!!! Oh Yeah, only 1 of these guys was ahead of him in TURNOVERs!! Oh Yeah, 3 of these guys had more points!" <----my friends words

And on that note, he also brought up the POPULAR Opinion that Rodman was a better defensive player than Pippen....so Rodman should be HOF too huh?? (but that's a different topic)

Any thoughts?

The bulls were 55-27 with Scottie Pippen leading them and Jordan not playing in 1993-1994. 55-27!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pippen is a HOF no doubt. What fucking team playing can you take their main star off of and still get 55 fucking wins?

Hell yeah. Understand that the only reason his personal stats are not through the roof is because he was playing behind the G.O.A.T.

There is no doubt that Pippen is a Hall of Famer. Personally, I'm waiting to see if and when Bob Hurley is going to get in.

you niggas get more retarded by the day

/thread.

This thread and original post made me laugh lmao.

Scotty was a top 3 wing player in his era. Just got lucky he played with the best. If Shaq and Duncan played on the same team who would be dumb enough to say they both aren't HOFers. GTFOH.

Scottie deserves it.... It wasn't totally about defense when it came to Scottie... boy could shoot also! Jordan was such a stellar player that Scottie didn't get all the props he deserved. But in all honesty, I don't think Jordan would hve been as successuful without having a Scottie Pippen on his team either. He was an excellent all around player and was "DEPENDABLE" game after game!

Your friend is a goddamn idiot. Not saying that Jordan and Pippen were comparable, but Jordan never came close to ship w/o Pippen. Pippen almost took a shitty Bulls team to the Finals.

Pippen almost took a shitty Bulls team to the Finals.

When?
I hope you're not talking about the 93-94 season. That team had some players and if he was jumping out at 3 point shooters at the end of games he wouldn't have gotten called for a foul that cost the Bulls a game in the NY series they lost and cost me money in the process.

Man, even the official that made the call admitted that it was a phantom call a few years ago. Robbed my Bulls of a nice finals appearance. I say appearance because the Jordan-less Bulls weren't beating the Rockets. Still, you can't fault Pip for that game 6 debacle.

I can't stand Scottie Pippen because he was a big bitch. I guess it takes a bitch ass nigga to have all that talent and accept being Robin to Jordan's Batman. But he is the greatest defender of all-time and is a no doubt hall of famer. He wouldn't go in the game in the playoffs when the play was drawn up for Toni Kukoc and he talked shit about Charles Barkley when the experiment with the two of them and Hakeem failed in Houston. But Scottie could play. Plus, even though he was listed as a forward he spent most of his time playing the point.

Here is my all-time defensive team.

Center - Wilt Chamberlain - You have to listen to Sonny Hill talk about how Wilt controlled the lane and blocked shots.

Power Forward - Dennis Rodman - I'm almost sorry that he ever won a rebounding title because he stopped being the defender that could shut down all five positions.

Small Forward - Scottie Pippen - The greatest defender ever could defend four spots on the floor and defended his man in the half court set and on the break and was a great help defender as well.

Big Guard - Joe Dumars - The toughest position for me but Dumars gets the nod over guys like Alvin Robertson. Jordan said he was the toughest.

Point Guard - Mo Cheeks - Isiah said that Mo Cheeks would pick him up as soon as he stepped off the plane. I still teach the Mo Cheeks steal to my young players.

Others receiving consideration are: Bill Russell, Marvin Webster, Caldwell Jones, Bobby Jones, Robertson, Anthony Mason, Rasheed Wallace, Bruce Bowen, Kevin Garnett, Byron Scott, Michael Cooper and my most underrated defender ever who was the best in the league at the turn of the century, Aaron McKie.

WTF??? Bill Russell invented the blocked shot. He's the only center who could even remotely shut Chamberlain down. Defense and Russell are synonymous. You may be the only person on the planet who would choose Chamberlain over Russell based solely on DEFENSE!!! (Defense that won 11 titles in 13 years.) :smh:

Scottie deserves to be inducted and so does Rodman.

/thread.

Rodman's eligibility is in question. He still may not even be officially retired as a pro. His clock keeps getting reset whenever he goes and plays in some Euro league. (At least that's what was happening through 2007 or so.)

damn why you even ask this question?..:smh:

Scottie Pippen is one of the greatest forward that game in the NBA..:dance:

a HOF for sure..
