HTML 5 is going to be great but it is still years away from being fully implemented. yes you can watch you tube without it but you will still run into issues with other sites. For some reason the apple fanboys believe you have to choose one or the other, you can have support for both. Having a computer like this released with out flash is like releasing an electric car without a gasoline tank and saying fossil fuels are on they way out you don't need it TODAY.

But thats not why I would mark this as a fail, As soon as I saw Iphone os on this it was instant fail. I would have loved to see a modified osx on this thing that would have been great but so far im underwhelmed.
 
Hmmm. I'm waiting for the "one more thing." Maybe Jobs will say, "this was 3.0 software. Now, I brought one more thing. The ipad with 4.0!"

I've always said this:
Never by the 1st generation Apple product. Always wait for the 3rd or 4th generation.

With that said, HTML 5 is good and necessary for the web. Actionscript is proprietary code which means you and developers are at the mercy of the Adobe. Proprietary code and the internet just don't mix. The features and animation flash provides needs to be open sourced so everyone can win.

Yeah, I don't see the draw either. But its a Apple made product and their sheep will buy anything they make, no matter the price.

If Apple made these and called them I-Cans, believe me they could charge you $500 dollars for them, put them in a pretty box and sell millions.

First thing that came to my mind as well. I thought this was going to run OSX that way I can add whatever programs I wanted onto it....on top of that lack of flash support.

This thing is a big fail....major fail....but the fan boys will scramble for it and soon as they buy it a week later they'll come out with a better one.
 
why would I use this INSTEAD of my MacBook Pro? When my MBP can do soooo much more?

this shit is a fucking oversized ipod touch and a glorified e-book reader disguised as a fucking computing device.


The only people hyped over this shit at this point are the Apple fanboys...everyone else is like ...meh


that said. I think it does what it is geard for pretty well from the looks of it and the price points are not TOO bad..I think it's a wrap for fucking e-book reader like the fucking kindle though. Why spend 259 on a kindle when you can spend about 150 more (give or take) and have a lot more at your disposal.


This is a win for apple......IF e-book readers take of...if not...another device fail for apple

If the kindle goes to color (which I expect them to do since Apple came out with this), I'm going to stick with a kindle.
 
No contract for 3G. Good shit. Haters stop kidding yourselves, the price points are great and it does what it advertises WELL. The iPad will sell.

Another win for Apple.
