I concur. The director is finally coming around. Which means that he'll be dead soon. It's a law of the universe, and the reason why every CTU director resists Jack's input. They know that sooner or later, they'll be required by law to take one for the team in order to save Jack's life.

That habit is called "limited range". He can play a certain type of "guy" well, but I don't like him in this role. You spend every scene looking/laughing at him instead of getting into the character.
