they didn't really give him a chance to do anything with the book. they stuffed his run with so many crappy crossover mandates that killed the momentum he had in the beginning. He got screwed over on this deal...................

Wonder why? Ya don't think might have something to do with him adding a little *aaheermm* "color" to JLA do you? I mean, Icon and Hardware are supposed to be in this book in a major way soon I heard.

No it's because he was pretty open about the problems he was having on the book as far as editorial interference went. A bunch of his stories were being interrupted by company-wide crossovers and the team roster was mandated by editorial so there were times he wanted a character and couldn't get them and so forth. A couple of months ago a popular comics news & rumors column collected a bunch of his statements and ran it as a news piece and McDuffie says that's when he got the boot.

he was only speaking the truth. they screwed him over on his run. plan and simple. we didn't hear any stories about Brad Meltzer having editorial problems did we? And D. McDuffie is more well known and respected in the industry than him, so why the problem? why not let him tell his story and let him sink or swim on that and his rep?........................
