when the board first started, they had it in everyone's post. With V Bullentin, the owner and mods see the IPs, but no one else.
Board administrator can see members IP. In this case HNIC can see members IP.
who told you this?

Doing it would probably require you breaking a law in order to do it.
Everything from ip addresses to customer receipts @ your favorite online retailer are stored in a database some where.

That's the way it worked on my other boards. Pulling an I.P. block is a whole other game than just banning a screename/email address.
An I.P. block and potentially fuck up other people if the connection is shared that's why it's left for Admin authority not Moderators.
Moderators = Referee
Admin = Commissioner

A search of User ID's/UID's can show a match regarding registered or posting IP's without showing the actual IP's. The user names matching is the confirmation.
