You know what, after reading this and laughing at you in my head. I come to realize that this may be a good choice. Why? Because Nick Cannon is a dick. And he has that look that says "i cant fight, but i look funny trying to", and that would be the point of the whole movie. It would be funny watching him fight sam jackson. But Last Dragon wasnt intended to be a comedy.
His acting skills arent great, but he would look like an idiot (just like the original actor), doing karate.
It may be listed as a comedy, but at that time, that shit was all action to me. But if i watch it today, im gonna
my ass off. Thats why i said if nick cannon was in it, it would be funny.
Even though I can't stand Beyonce, that sounds interesting. LD was a PG movie. If Jackson ain't cussing up a storm, he ain't that interesting

Samuel L. Jackson is older than and LOOKS older than the late Julius Carry now. Sam looks like Julius Carry 23 years older than when the original movie was made. I would think somebody like a Busta Rhymes would make more sense if they are just remaking the original flick, but I ain't too sure Busta could act his way through even a "Sho Nuff" role.

I know dude deserves more parts than he gets, but he is designed for the Wesley Snipes niche (which is open, by the way), not the Taimak niche.
I have no fucking idea who would play Bruce Leroy, but don't be pissed when it ends up being somebody like Chris Brown.
I feel you .. but If I were in charge.. of this i would not do a STRAIGHT REMAKE of the original. I would borrow some elements of the original...

And why is Sam Jackson too old? In those old Kung Fu flicks.. the young hero would be fighting a damn near 70 year old Shaolin Monk in the final showdown.
The story will be set in present day.
Sho Nuff by day is a "shady" real estate developer that is using intimidation to buy up all of Harlem to run his criminal enterprises. .. but he is also trained and highly skilled in the way of the Samurai... and runs a mixed martial arts (think UFC) promotions company.
Michael Jai White runs (and best ever student) of a DOJO in harlem that is owned by an old retired Kung Fu master played by Sonny Chiba. White's character's parents died in an accident when he was 16, and was forced to take care of his little brother played by Nick Cannon. The old Sensai whom White had been training with since he was 5 takes both White & Cannon in and raises them both....
A very attractive city planning attorney played by Gabrielle union.. is hired by Sho Nuff.. to negotiate less than favorable buyouts for the tenants. Obviously she tries to talk to the old SENSI owner of the DOJO into selling...yet he refuses. Romance blossoms between White and Union. Yet romance is awkward...cuz all White knows is Kung Fu and training.
To make a long story short. Sho Nuff ends up killing the old Sensei . White retaliates by fucking up all the rest of Sho Nuff's business ventures...and gets Union to help him.
After Sho Nuff realizes whats up... he kidnaps White, Nick Cannon, and Union to lure White for a final showdown.
In the last showdown...to make it a bit more believable...its a combination of sword-play ending with hand to hand combat. .. and of course "The Glow" and the "Who's the Master" sequence.

Yeah they should let Taimak play him again, and Busta will lose weight and play Shonuff. He did a good job in his dangerous video. As far as Vanity, I don't know who is fine enough to play her. All the girls you guys have named are not fine enough. Just like they can't find a woman fine enough to play Wonder Woman. If they remake this movie, I hope they look deep and hard for the actors.
