EXCLUSIVE! The First Images Of Megatron From Transformers 2?

As soon as he died (wish Optimus wuld've offed him) in the first one, my first thouht was Galvatron... then when the Revenge of the Fallen title came out that pretty much confirmed it for me. Megatron was reformed as Galvatron by Unicron (i think) after he died right?

"The Fallen" is the name of an actual character......apparentley he's always engulfed in flames.

He goes way back...from the days of Unicorn, etc

But hes really a Ret-Con and only in the DW Comics. The Average TFan wont know...

Then again... ( Transformers Wiki )
During San Diego Comic-Con 2008, Simon Furman claimed that a character based upon The Fallen would appear in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.[2] A day or two later, IDW Publishing writer Chris Mowry corroborated the claim in an interview with MTV Splash Page, calling "The Fallen" the main villian of the film.[3] Less than a week after this, however, Michael Bay reiterated that everything leaked thus far is part of their misinformation campaign and that only a handful of people involved with the production of Revenge have seen the script, contradicting IDW's interviews where their representatives confirm that they have the script.[4] Curiously, on August 5th 2008, after a fan posted on Michael Bay's forum pointing out the contradiction, all references to The Fallen were removed from the aforementioned interviews, as well as any references to IDW Publishing having the script.

The new Transformers comics provides the new movie's backstory:

At the dawn of time, Primus created new life, the 13 original Transformers, to crew his planetary form into battle against his eternal nemesis Unicron. One of these 13, his original name now lost to the mists of time, turned against his siblings, his creator, and his universe, and betrayed them all.

...this guardian of entropy became obsessed with the darker side of chaos and death, and in the black place these urges led him, the betrayer found a new god, more suited to his nature. He turned against Primus and became the Fallen. Now he is a being of power, darkness, and absolute dedication to Unicron.

Who is The Fallen?:

Around 6.5 million years ago, a test of the experimental "space bridge" matter-transport system on Cybertron liberated the Fallen from his prison, and he materialised on Cybertron, where he quickly recruited the Chaos Trinity, three mystically-inclined Decepticons - Bludgeon, Mindwipe and Bugly - into his employ. Abducting Transformers that he identified as possessing "genetic potential" within their sparks - Grimlock, Blitzwing, Jetfire and Hot Spot - the Fallen planned to use their energies to awaken Primus from his self-imposed slumber, thereby alerting Unicron to his location, allowing the world-eater to renew hostilities with his old enemy. An attack from combined Autobot and Decepticon forces led by Shockwave and Prowl disrupted his plans, and Primus himself reached out and promptly destroyed the Fallen.

Yesterday I read from a trustworthy source that "The Fallen" of the title "Revenge of The Fallen" is in fact the same "The Fallen" of the comics.

word the fallen is a beast! story might throw my boy Otis off over there :D

Although the Fallen’s origins are only suggested in his comic book appearance, they would be fully explained in Dorling Kindersley’s Transformers: The Ultimate Guide. One of the original thirteen Transformers created by Primus, the robot who would become the Fallen betrayed his creator by siding with Primus’s dark twin, the malevolent planet-eater, Unicron. In the final battle between Primus and Unicron, the Fallen fell victim to the same fate as his master, sucked through a black hole into another dimension. However, while Unicron emerged into another universe, the Fallen was not so fortunate, finding himself trapped in the “underspace” between dimensions.

The Fallen made his only appearance in the second volume of Transformers: The War Within - the Dark Ages. Around 6.5 million years ago, a test of the experimental “space bridge” matter-transport system on Cybertron liberated the Fallen from his prison, and he materialised on Cybertron, where he quickly recruited the Chaos Trinity, three mystically-inclined Decepticons - Bludgeon, Mindwipe and Bugly - into his employ. Taken directly from the later original comic book's run when Megatron was actually rebuilt as a tank during G2. If my memory serves me right Cobra (yes, GI Joe's Cobra) was responsible for rebuilding him as a tank.:D

uhhhhhhh ok. :dunno:

Damn it's good to see a lot of Trans fans on here!

Yeah I've been collecting off and on for about 8 years.

That would be stupid as hell. 20 foot robot turning into a handgun.:hmm:
 That reminds me of what I heard a while ago. Megatron is one of the baddest, most powerful Decepticons ever, but he shrink to a gun and has to be held by someone else to fire in his alternate mode! That's like if Darth Vader could transform into a lightsaber and someone else would have to hold him to use him!

Yall on the go with this stuff man. The thing is the writers are combing through decades of material and condensing it. Trying to find the right angle, the humans have to take a back seat this time plot wise. They can afford more dialogue with the robots this time. They can let them speak in alternate mode too.

We probably won't even see The Fallen till the film. I googled so much shit on Transformers last year - the multi-universes and canon logic had my fucking head spinning. The key is to keep the plot simple, advance the intelligence of the plot.

Cats is figuring out the plot and characters already... or maybe not. This is what Bay was hoping for. Half the shit we suggest might even stimulate some changes in post production - like with the first flick. And still

THEY ARE GOING TOO FAR ON MEGATRON'S DESIGN.

Looks like a pussy with razor blades in it with two red eyes.

Heres my two cents

Transformers ain't never been proportionate with what the transform from to what they transform to. Guns and boom boxes into 20 ft robots. It would be my choice if they stuck with the original (Megatron being a P-38 pistol) but transformers came out in 1984. ITS 2008. They need to upgrade with todays technology. So a different Megatron would be ok if it makes the movie that much more better. Not if it makes much difference because in the movie he didn't look like the original character anyway.

The reason the changed Megatron from the gun is because that toy gun from a distance looked real. Cops was pulling out on kids as if they had a real weapon. Tanka, Hasbro and Marvel comics had switch that shit up

What they realy need to do is GI JOE the movie. It would be more realistic than Transformer.

Darth Furious, Lurker he is on point. The reason that Megatron's alt mode has been changed from a transformer sized gun to something else is because back when he was first out in the 80's, even then I thought without the scope and cannon extension that mofo looked like a REAL-ASS GUN!! Now for the classics toy line they made him a gun again, but made so no one would mistake it for a real one.
Story wise, think about it, I saw this drawing on the net where he turns into a gun but because no one is around to hold him, how threatening is that(I'm sure he probably could fire on his own but you get the idea). Plus, the point was brought up about the mass audience wouldn't buy the mass-shifting theory (how a robot that a little bigger than Optimus could turn into something that a regular size transformer could hold - much less a human?? :hmm:)

p.s. fellas, remember Bay has said himself there is plenty of mis-information out there so all scoops and leaks are all suspect.

Personally I hope the "Fallen" is a cross between DW's Fallen and IDW's Nemesis Prime

You might be right. I just saw that the movie is scheduled for release in Aug 09. Marlon Wayans is Ripcord. Nobody has got a mavel movie right yet. Not that it matters they did the Punisher 3 times already.

DAMN!! I didn't know there were so many incarnations of Mega-Tron. I have to admit I like the G1 Mega-tron the most. At least Galvatron was better than gay ass Rodimus Prime. I also understand the reasoning about Mega-Tron being the leader, but transforming into something someone else has to hold for changing him into a tank. However, that makes a good achilles heel imo. I also didn't know about stuff like Fallen.

GI Joe looks horrible from what I've seen. I want to see them make a Voltron movie myself.
