---ACURA LEGEND 93 IN GOOD CONDITION , PERFECT BODY , CLEAN NO SCRATCHS OR DENTS, INSIDE LEATHER NEW , SUNROOF WORKS PERFECT, CD CHANGER, CRUISE CONTROL , HEATER SEATS, HEATER MIRRORS, MEMORY SEATS AND A LOT MORE .... THIS CAR IS ORIGINALLY FROM BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS HAS 189,000 AND DRIVES PERFECT---

he asking for $2900...but willing to go lower....

so what ya'll think?

good looks ya'll....

I can tell from the pics that that is a NYC car. While Acura makes very good cars I wouldn't ever buy a used car with 189 thousand miles on it. Thats just way too much. You can do better looking elsewhere. A car with that many miles needs a mechanic to give it A FULL once over b4 even sitting in it.

:smh::smh:

yeah he in NYC...but he said it was HWY miles from Boston, MA...could be fronting....

but i was thinking the same thing about the mileage the whip got...

what do you mean by give it a "Full"...I don't really know to much about whips....:(

I had a few Legends back in the day, they are great cars!
They do have 1 flaw and that is the Head Gasket problem! When you test it out make sure you leave it running for at least 15 minutes after a test drive with the A/C on to see if it over heats, if it does then walk away! Also look for signs of anti freeze leaks or smell!
A Bad HG would be @ @g's to fix!!!
But for that price you could prob get one with less miles!
Go here to read what to check for and you may find a nice one here!

Ask your friends if they have a mechanic they trust or at least like. make sure its someone the seller doesn't know. As the seller if he is willing to have a mechanic go over the car checking gaskets, fluids, tranny, brakes & rotors things like that. This is something you should be willing to pay for. If the mechanic gives the car a good bill of health then go for it.

However I would still say to look around for a car with less mileage.

cosign. that's a lot of miles. Even if the engine is purring, other little things start to go wrong with cars as they get up there in miles. I had a Legend and I loved it. However, you have have to be really careful my man. You have to think about how much money are you willing to put into it IF something goes wrong. Parts wear out. No matter what kind of car it is, parts wear out. Even if the part isn't that expensive, labor on car repairs is through the roof nowadays. I would venture to say it's probably around 100 dollars an hour now at an Acura dealer. If not more.

so what do you suggest is a good mileage for a legend?

are the repairs for a legend 91-95 that expensive?

LOL! everybody says that home slice. I'm not saying he's lying but, everybody says that. The car looks well kept from the pictures you posted but, that is a lot of miles. little pain the ass electrical stuff starts to wear out. lights go out that are supposed to be on, lights come on that aren't supposed to etc. etc. etec.. The more I think about it, I would say don't do it. Especially since you're saying your not that familiar with cars and it seems like your trying to "watch your pennies" with the price range you're aiming at.

I'm not laughing at YOU, it's just that everybody says "there all hwy miles" or a little old lady owned the car.

You Jamaican fam?

Nah why don't you get a car fax and you will see if its Highway miles or not. Honestly the car looks good but go inspect it more before you offer a price, Try to bring it down to 2500 or 2400 and use that money to change those ugly ass rims.

There is nothing wrong with the miles its actually a bargaining chip to lower the price. Don't let these ninjas tell you any different

not jamaican...LOL...but my parents are immigrants....

i just like Legends my dude...

ain't gonna front...Jamaicans love their Maxima's, Legends and corolla's....

no hate ya'll...

I have a 95 Acura Legend, same color and equipp with about 124k on the dash. They are great cars but as someone said, very finicky. That's a lot of miles not to know how someone took care of it and it's a little pricey for that mileage. Not trying to steal your joy of buying your 1st car, but I think you can do better for the money you're spending. I'd spend the day looking for other deals. autotrader.com is a great source.

it's not so much the year of the car, it's just that whatever goes wrong, I would suggest you take it to an ACURA dealer. and dealer repair costs are crazy expensive. You don't want to put more money in the car than what it's worth. Look on the Kelly Blue Book site and see how much the car is worth first of all. It may not even be worth 2500 dollars. I'm not trying to be funny or anything. You'd be surprised how little cars are worth after you take them off the lot. I'm sure other posters will cosign on this when I tell you that the little repairs are what will take you under. automatic window motors, dash lights, AC compressors, etc. stuff that has nothing to do with how the car runs. Cars from the 80's and newer, (especially transaxle cars, "front wheel drive") everything is so compact under the hood, even if you could fix them yourself, stuff is soooo hard to get to. Everything is so comapact under the hood.

Dude shut up. Why would he take a 15yr old car to a fuckin acura stealership? He can just join up on a Acura Legend message board in the NYC area and get good deals on parts and maintaince.

Yeah just like the other dude stated. Look around to see how much it cost to repair a Legend. Do they use standard parts?

Young Brother, please don't disrespect me like that. the OP said he virtually knows nothing about cars. a "shade tree" mechanic is the last thing that someone who knows nothing about cars needs. You have your opinion and I respect that, please respect mine. You take your car back to a dealer so that the work is "warrantied". If you can work on your own car, that's great. From his posts, it sounds like he can't.

First I'm not young and second I'm not your brother dn't try to push that tribalism shit on me. Keep it real family. Why are you worrying about respect on a porn board let alone faceless strangers?

This ad looks suspect to me. Do this famo. Before you consider buying ANY car on craigslist, use your mouse to highlight the title of the car for sale in the ad..
ie: ACURA LEGEND 93 IN GOOD CONDITION

Right click on the highlighted craigslist title and select google search from the drop down.

What you want to determine if this ad shows up in ANY other craigslist in another state. When it does, you know this ad is bogus.

I suspect it is.

Be especially careful when those ads include the vehicle VIN number. No one sells a car like that. And this car in another state bullshit is clearly a scam. Don't ever buy a car under those conditions.

Good luck.

do you think its to pricey....or is that an acurate price for the mileage and year for that LEGEND....

Its about right for the mileage and the condition. Check kelly blue book.com to get an idea.

You can def negotiate that price to about 2300.

64k miles, for that yr i would rather it have 120k or so....what has the car been doing? sitting there letting all the fluids dry up? its kinda pricey too maybe 2000 for it

i also would not pay more than 500 bucks for a car with 189,000 miles on it...dont care what the seller says

Just be prepared to do work on older cars....there is no win win with old cars. Its a reason why the owner don't drive it till the wheels fall off. Its because he know the wheels are comming off soon. In these economic times I would buy used cars with low miles.
