FRANK MILLER'S DAREDEVIL RUN

Miller's first issue of Daredevil (#158) was the last part of an ongoing story written by Roger McKenzie. Although still conforming to traditional comic book styles, Miller infused this first issue with his own film noir style which proved to be a success. After this issue Miller became one of Marvel's fastest rising stars and also started plotting additional stories with McKenzie. Miller's art was highly detailed but still retained his noir style as his run progressed. Learning from Neal Adams, Miller would sit for hours sketching the roofs of New York in an attempt to give his Daredevil art an authentic feel not commonly seen in superhero comics at the time. Miller was so successful with the title that Marvel began publishing the Daredevil comic monthly (as opposed to its previous bi-monthly publication period). From issue 168 in 1981, Miller took over full duties as writer and penciller with Klaus Janson providing inks in the issues. This issue saw the first appearance of Elektra.

With his creation of Elektra, Miller's work on Daredevil became characterised by darker themes and stories heavily influenced by Japanese manga strips. This peaked when in issue 181 he had the assassin Bullseye kill Elektra. Although deaths of supporting characters were commonplace in comics at the time, a death of a major character like Elektra was not. Miller made it clear with the next few issues that he intended Elektra to remain dead but nonetheless she was revived during his time as writer. Miller finished his Daredevil run with issue 191; in his time he had transformed a secondary Marvel character into one of the most popular and best-selling characters Marvel published. Due to Daredevil's popularity, Miller became one of the most sought after artists in the industry.

Miller was relatively reclusive in 1985; his only published work was a single issue of Daredevil (issue 219), inspired by the film High Plains Drifter.

"Daredevil: Born Again" is a story arc in Marvel Comics' Daredevil #227-#233 (1986), written by Frank Miller and drawn by David Mazzucchelli.

The story details Daredevil's fall to insanity and destitution at the hands of The Kingpin, as well as his subsequent struggle to build a new life for himself. It is considered by many fans to be the definitive Miller-written Daredevil story.

That's about the dumbest thing I've ever seen.:hmm: Good thing I get comics off of the internet now.:smh:

word. i saw that shit and just....:smh:
how bout trying a little originality insead of rehashing new versions of an old cash cow...lookin like a spawn/malbogia/venom (sic) reject.

:hmm:

If I actually bought comic books, I would stop buying spider man.

Man yall niggas kill me. You know next to nothing about this character and you are already hatin.:smh::smh::smh: this is just the dumbest line of thought ever. ALL comic books retread, reimagine old plots and characters. It's the execution that counts. If it's wack when it comes out then fine. But hating on some shit 3 months before it airs is just lame.

I bet yall were the same mofos saying Michael Bay is going to ruin my childhood before Transformers came out.:lol::lol::lol:

naw I just wait til shit comes out and I have more info on it before I hate. I didn't say I like the anti-venom shit. All i'm saying is that I'm willing to give it a chance. It can't be any lamer than when hobgoblin came out.:hmm:

Wolverine is not a Skrull and I'm going to tell you why.

Imagine if the Skrull could duplicate Wolverine's healing factor.

Them niggas would be gatdamn unstoppable.

They wouldn't need to infiltrate, they could just invade and fuck shit up, seeing as how they basically can't die.

And Wolverine is in so many books because he popular.

But people are getting tired of that shit...

Yeah but he was a skrull before, when the real Wolverine was kidnapped an made into death at the beginning of the Twelve Storyline.

It case anyone needs it

So yeah I think that Nigga a skrull. Now that I think about it the storyline right before this one had them on a skrull planet where all of the skrulls were copies of heroes
As for spider woman she got the heroes to go to the savage land, completely out the picture

Well it could be the Skrull Queen's way of confussing the heroes.
Sending a ship with copycat heroes to a spot where both Avenger teams will be at was smart.
She's playing them like puppets.

Good lookin' fam, but these two links are the same thing. Can you re-up that Apocalypse link?

Request: Anybody got that Juggernaut: Eighth Day issue? I'm involved in a debate on another forum if Juggeraut in his most powerful form (Eighth Day) could hang with World War Hulk or Thor. I've never seen the book, but people are riding Juggernaut like he can't be fucked with. I just need evidence.

I'll post the two fights Thor and Juggernaut already had if anyone wants to see it.

Oh, and Styxx, you sick with it! To this day, I still think Miller's Daredevil run is the best.

This blind hate for this character just sounds silly.

For all we know that is Venom and something in this story mutates him into this. It could be Spider-Man's antibody immune system from when he first rejected the symbionite rejecting it again.

Seriously, who the eff knows what this means outside of it just being a picture. It could be another lame symbionite or it could be one of the greatest contributions to the Spider-Man legacy. At least figure out what it is and how it came to be before passing judgement.

I'll admit the "Anti-venom" character MIGHT be good but come on these bastards at marvel rebooted spiderman on some bitch shit after the reverse genius move of having him reveal his secret identity. all their recent moves just shows that they have run out of good ideas and lost touch of what would make sense in the spiderman continuity. The name alone shows a lack of originality "Anti-venom" really sounds lame. at this point why even go back to the symbiote storyline.

Still wrapping my head around Spiderwoman.

I don't think she is a Skrull.

She is sneaky and trifling, but so are some of ya'll niggas girls.

She may be hiding something...

Dude, the cat is out the bag...they actually show the shit...are u even readin' the comics?:confused: that bitch is skrullier than the skrulliest skrull...the bitch is the Queen B-Skrull.

On another note, i just read that Thor one-shot....that nigga ran thru the Frost Giants like sour collardgreens!! that story is tight....kinda confusin' about Loki gettin' banished..then next he's back chillin' in Asgard kidnappin' bitches.

Seriously I think shit is not what it seems.

Yeah they they showed that Skrull lady looking at Spiderwoman but I don't think she was succesful in taking her out.

Thats why I think she is hiding something.

I mean look at Echo.

She was almost replaced but Wolverine happened to be there to save her.

Whos to say that that was the only Skrull to fail.

I think the writers WANT you to think that Spiderwoman is a Skrull...
