here you see the BRAINWASHING of eurocentrism...why does she have rouge on???

she's applied her make up in much the same manner a white bitch would apply it..

her complexion is even enough maybe could use a little foundation...but thats it..

White women apply make up to give themselves the same aspects of beauty women of color (but especially dark skin women) already have.

*cheekbone definition
*color in the face
*definition in features especially around the eyes and lips

BLACK WOMEN LISTEN UP!!!!

2n8ver7.jpg

this white chick is imitating aspects of the beauty of women of color.

mVzZNV_large.jpg

This black chick is imitating how white women apply make up to look like a woman of color..

in essence the black chick is basically imitating HERSELF...poorly

please tell this to all the black woman you see...I'm tired of seeing sistas walking around in clown make up with RED and BLUE on their face..WTF??:smh:

wake up my sisters...you don't need that shit!!!

Instead of talking about her makeup, can we talk about how poorly her outfit fits and how she looks cheap?
Also, her shoes look tacky. No ma'am.

^^^^^^^I mean that's the first thing I noticed but I didn't wanna say it:lol::lol::lol:

I feel where the OP is coming from ... I don't wear any make-up at all ... but if a black woman does I think some eye shadow to match the outfit and some lipstick is all that's needed all the rest of it is not necessary:smh:

But the idea that White woman wear make-up to imitate us I think is true ... I mean they even tan to look brown like us:dunno:

The problem isn't that she's applied rouge, it's the color and amount she used and the manner in which she put it on.

Although darker skinned women can get away with brighter colors, with a dress that loud she needs natural makeup. and blush should almost always be either a brown or plum color for black women anyway.

She needs to invest in a better brush too. That would get rid of the streaky look.

why do you need blush??? her cheekbones are very prominent..

IMO black women just need to even out their skintone if its uneven and a soft gloss on the lips...thats the MOST women of color particularly darkskin woman really need....again IMO

do you think she needs make up?

The trick to wearing makeup is to look like you aren't.

That woman posted ^^^^^ is wearing makeup, it's just subtle. It looks like she's wearing foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, eyebrows are penciled in, and lipgloss.

Applying makeup really is an art. The lady posted above is just more natural than the chick's in the orange.

i was thinking the same thing...

i was thought to myself..."damn shes got bigger problems to worry about than a little blush"

i dunno where to begin...

the "dress" she is wearing that was meant to be a shirt...and never meant for her to wear

that hideous tattoo on op of her cottage cheese thighs

although those shoes look a size too small for her...id rock them bitches!

No, she is a beautiful woman, maybe a little visine will help though.

thanx for clarifying that..but thats my point.. i can't stand to see women of color wearing gaudy ass make up...less is more..minimalism is the way to go..

yup...that dress is most definitely a tunic! it's very loud and unflattering. applying rogue is definitely 25 years ago. shoes are cute, not for that particular outfit though. definitely could have made better decisions with the makeup.

She is definitely wearing makeup, and I think that's kinda the point I'm trying to make. If applied well, you shouldn't even be able to tell.

And as for blush, it's for more than just making your cheekbones prominent. I have very prominent cheekbones, but when I put on makeup I still wear blush. It's about giving your skin a glow like you've been working out (or having sex since we are on SOL...). If you have ever noticed, you're redder on the cheeks after you get done with a vigorous workout, and anthropology shows that men as a species are attracted to that flush because it indicates you are healthy. This woman has on bluch as well, a subtle brown right on her cheekbones.

but my point and the thread title is still accurate...black woman shouldn't be applying make up like white women..

this post has effectively made 10 black people less intelligent...thank you for our time dip shit...

On the real dude, this is a subject you talk to with a chick you've been with. Honestly, I feel that this subject is a bit simple minded. I mean, if you really think about it, who to say how white girls do their make up wasn't started by a sister? Last time I checked, many of today's trends have been influenced by hip hop, and our culture. While you say "white girl this, and white girl that" a sister probably started the shit.

To conclude, I really feel that you are actually thinking too much about the wrong things. Thus, you fail at life...

Now die...

sorry, I try not to read post that considers race. I took you for a dumb ass who just see people through color. See, if you would of said "women, quit putting on make up on like a clown", I would of read, and probably agreed with you. However, you put the White/Black argument in. Thus, me not taking this thread seriously. I'm sick of all the white/black thing actually.

[rant] I've been avoiding this thread because I really don't think this "issue" is even relevant. Most of the black women I know don't even wear makeup on a regular basis and when they do . . most of them I know may wear a little eyeshadow, mascara, and a lipstick/lip gloss.

Then you pick the tackiest woman to use an example for us. . . . which was kind of an insult because on my worst day. . . I'll be damned if I ever look like that. .

Then you post another pic. . . of a woman that has on a full face a makeup. . . and call that "natural" . . .

I mean what are you trying to accomplish with this post? It seems like you don't even know enough to even bring this "issue" to the table.

[/rant]

I was going to say the same thing about avoiding this thread, but it keeps getting bumped. I see I should have kept on avoiding it. You made my visit worthwhile. :D

Ugh...out of all the women that are posted on this site.....

That woman has on foundation at the very least.

I have nothing substantial to add, I think it's been covered.

understood.. but again I said that there are black woman who apply make up in a manner that white women do...

I've seen it many times usually in clubs or church sometimes at the office..

As far as the black model..she applied her make up in a manner that wasn't gaudy and just enhanced her natural beauty and that was what i was talking about when I said "IMO black women just need to even out their skintone if its uneven and a soft gloss on the lips...thats the MOST women of color particularly darkskin woman really need....again IMO"

which basically was saying that black women didn't need as much make up or have it applied in the same way white women do.

thats all

our standard and idea of beauty has been affected by eurocentrism...you can't get around it.

:lol::lol::lol:
...but those shoes were cute! The rest :smh:

Good post Cutie and Geech it seems the summary of this is that women of color's natural attributes do not require gaudy color enhancement in your opinion. I dont think anyone is disagreeing with you just the examples presented as a realistic representation of how most women with some modicum of good tase would apply make-up. I'm including white women in that because I rarely ever see a professional white woman walking around looking like she is going to a photo shoot.

...and one has to take into account that club, nighttime and stage make up tends to be a bit out there and more dramatic. Sis in the orange needs some help though. What happened to TonyaTKO's vids?

Takes a lot of nerve to leave home looking like that. :smh: Either that dress doesn't fit her right or she has it on backwards either way hell no. :smh:

:smh::smh::smh:

I ain't skinny- I'm all for my ample women. But this is a black chick imitating she skinny wearing something her body is telling her she shouldn't be in.

What she need is some sleep...clear that right up...

Instead of asking why put on makeup like a white woman, why not ask why makeup in the first place? All you need is a jar of cocoa butter and rich color tube of lip gloss from VS.

I don't see anything wrong with the red rouge on her cheeks. I like it. And who said that sistas can't wear makeup a certain way? They can do whatever they want to their face. I don't like when women go overboard with that shit though. If a woman's complexion goes from light red to mocha brown then there's a problem.

why does she have rouge on???

I think a better question would be "How mad is her man going to be when he finds out she fucked up his favorite shirt ?
