A few thing's I've noticed about the Tyler Perry movies are, light skinned men alway's play the good guy role. All the bad guy's seem to be dark complected. Also fat women never are the headlining character's but when there is a serious issue the main character always turn's to a fat woman for guidance. I believe I have come up with good reason as to why he does this. I'd like to know what you think also.

I wish the brother every success in all of his future endeavors, but I wouldn't watch one of his movies or plays if you paid me.
 
he brings fresh new plays, with different story lines, with a positive message, and u can see that he tries to relate it to alot of people..... madea does get too silly for me sometimes and the fat short bald dude..... get a little over board, but all in all good.......

also you notice this christmas we had two positive black movies, that were PG :yes: shocking ...yes:yes:, those movies i believe were feeding off his plays and movies, positive message, dont need "nigga" or cussin, yes they're are successful black people, idk sometimes its corny but its good to see sometimes.... im rambling, sorry im sleepy:lol:

I guess u did'nt see the movie Daddy's little girls ...a darkskinned dude was the hero in that movie, even though he resorted to gangster means in the end. That cat was a real man in my opinion.
 
I did see Daddy's litte girls. But you misread my quote. I never said all dark men in his movies were bad guys. What I said was all the bad guys in his movies are dark skinned. Do you disagree?
 
tyler perry is dumbed down easily digestible black entertainment. if u are a writer, rapper, singer, director or trying to get in the entertainment industry - if you keep to this rule of thumb, you will do fine. watch and see.

White people haven't done shit for him. He's done it all on his own, playing to "churchgoing" black audiences (who were usually ignored by white filmmakers).

I got to give it to him he did his thing with "Why Did I Get Married". That movie was real to me. It seemed real and not all that dumb comedy. His plays arent so bad but I dont care for the movies.​
 
I have great admiration for Tyler Perry and what he has accomplished. All I want to know is why people think his films and plays are so popular?

i know ima catch heat for this one, but in the movie, i swear i wanted to fuck the shit outta the loud mouth chick....she looks like she can talk the most shit man....she was the loud mouth moms on ATL....damn i wanna tap her ass

Man no kiddin' I felt the same exact way. I didn't care for her in ATL but I seen her in Daddy's Little Girl's and that other Tyler Perry flick with Janet Jackson and damn I wanted to smash. Somethin' about her is sexy as hell to me.

It was a well written good film that gave overweight women a pass. You were basically instructed to love a woman strictly for the inside which is unrealistic.

That wasnt all of it tho. It was about her actually making a effort to lose weight not becuz of the dude, but becuz she needed to better herself too. And some dudes like a woman that size. I liked the real problems they had, it wasnt like most overly fake marriage movies.​
 
My main complaint with Tyler Perry is his shit is all the same. His plays, films and even his TV show resembles his plays and films. Shit is ridiculous. Not even a Tyler hater. Haven't seen Meet The Browns so I can't comment on that film all his films and plays are the same. You see one and you've seen them all. I'll give him credit for Daddy's Little Girl and Why Did I Get Married. Surprisingly, he hasn't beaten us in the head with those same story lines. I think he may be a good play writer but not sure if he's as good as a film director/writer.

My main complaint is that shitty show he has on TBS. I dont know how its still on the air. I respect dude for making money his way and doing his thing with the movies and plays but that show is the worst shit to touch a cable station.​

And it's coming back next season. My point is that T.P. plays on the pain of Black Women in looking for his core audience. Most black women are either overweight or have been abandoned by a man. These are key components to all his movies.

Yea I cant argue that. Women are his main audience. Other than "Why Did I Get Married' and "Daddy's Little Girls" I cant think of any others that appealed to anyone else. But I cant hate on the man, he is doing his thing. But not all black women fit into those 2 categories, but even ones that dont still watch that stuff.

As far as that show, I dont know who that appeals to. It is hot trash with the lid off. It should have been canceled a long time ago. I know its a black show and all but I dont support nothin I think is trash black or not.​

I've never watched one all the way through. It's all formulaic 'chitlin circuit' style buffoonery. It's just his turn at the moment. But if you are trying to get next to a slightly overweight religious single-mother on the rebound, pop one of his flicks in and pretend you're feeling it. She'll be all yours. ;)

well, to level the playing field, Perry didn't have one light skinned brotha in "Why Did I Get Married."

All the brothas in that flick were dark skinned. both the hero and the villian.

btw, why you mad about dark skinned brothas being portrayed negatively in flim when 95% of "rappers" today are dark skinned ex-gang members and drug dealers who proudly promote themselves as thugs and bangers?

Dark skinned niggas brought that upon themselves. Matter of fact, a light skinned ex-gang member/rapper can't even get signed to a record deal these days cause he ain't dark skinned.
 
I respect what he's done for himself, and definitely feel that he has a passion for what he;s doing,but I am not into his work. A little bland to me. I do think he is talented, just ot my cup of tea.
