Just curious, am I the only one who hates the new "direction" of Spider Man?

In my opinion, it was lazy. It seems like they ran out of ideas for SM and just decided to start over.

Part of the reason why I dropped all of my marvel books and I am only sticking to Black Panther and Nova

Comics do this all of the time. The stories they are telling now are fun and entertaining and after a few years i doubt anyone will care.

I boycotted that shit.. I bet overall sales suffer because it AINT their Spiderman. You don't invalidate back issues with a new storyline. That was totally wack.

Only Marvel books i'm reading are uncanny, X-men first class, Thor, new warriors, and anything annihilation related.

C/S... for me the only Marvels worth anything is Thor, Punisher Max & Hulk (I want to see what they do w/ the new volume).

Otherwise, it's all DC for me. And this is coming from a lifelong Marvel-only reader. :smh:

I guess im the only one who likes what the did to spider man. They took him back to his roots. Spider man wasnt supposed to be the guy with the wonderful life and perfect family. He's the guy who always gets the raw end of the deal every time. Yet he still does the right thing. The whole city hates him but he still marches on. Because as you know with great power comes great responsibility. The whole aunt may's dead im gonna put on all black and kick everyones ass. That isnt spider man if you want that go read punisher. So like Joe Q said they had to take drastic measures to get him back on track.
I might not agree with everything they did but I like the results.

I second that. Marvel Universe is totally fucked up and confusing. I am especially tired of Wolverine. How the fuck can he be in so many comics.

DC has been hitting home runs in my oppinion as of late, and I too was a long time Marvel fan.

Marvel needs to fuckin clean up its timeline and get all their books straight. TOO DAMN CONFUSING with all these Secret War/House of M/Secret Invasion/Annhilation/World War Hulk/Civil War bullshit. Fix the timeline immidately because in my eye Marvel has the MULTI-VERSE problem that DC had.

I predict a high quality turd. Maybe it's because I am too rooted into the comic storyline as is.

I HOPE Watchmen is done right and the message of the comic gets through.

Same here on Wanted. The best they could do was come up with a curving bullet shot.:hmm: Lame. They've de-clawed and de-fanged the property trying to make a hero out of Wesley. If you haven't read the comic, it might be OK to you, but for fans of the comic you can't help but to be disappointed. Completely removing the superhero element from the movie eliminates the very purpose of the story. Oh and after seeing those Watchmen stills I can't wait to see the movie now.

I don't even understand this line of thinking.:smh::smh:

Part of the reason why I am only sticking with BP and NOVA ATM is to finish out the ongoing storyline.

When a author (or writer) writes a character one way or establish laws in their universe then plays the reset button...it's time to move on.

Doing it with Spidey...Who is to say they won't do it with another character and so on.

I left DC for the same reason years ago. Right now the best story lines are in independent books and mangas, IMO.

The "Watchmen" movie is going to be straight CRACK son!!!

I am looking forward to this flick.

Man,

I really hope they do not fuck this shit up. Already I don't like the fact the Owl Man is buff...Dude was chubby in the comic like Adam West...LOL!

It wasn't a reset as much as it was a clean up.

Spider-Man was written injto a hole once The Other happened and even more so later once he was a fugitive. These stories began to write him out of character imo. He was making death "promises" to Kingpin like he was Matt Murdoc, had poison tipped stingers like a venomous Wolverine and could talk to bugs like Humbug. The last two he never even used after that storyline.

I admit that OMD was a pretty weak way to resolve this issue, but the current stories actually read like a Spider-Man story again. It has a robust supporting cast again which was one of the best things about Spider-Man.

Comics readjust and even fully reset things all the time. People complain about it all the time, but if they never did we would never have the Captain America we have now, Nova, Thunderbolts or Avengers.

Spider-man is beginning to be boring, I'm tired of the living with Aunt May and working at the Bugle storyline. They fucked it up with that whole Mephisto Deal........ who the fuck would choose their old ass aunt over their own wife? WTF?
Now with the new storyline with Harry being back is just stupid. I liked when He was going after the Kingpin that was pretty good. But now I just stick to Punisher War Journal, and Punisher Max

But what do other books have to do with Spidey?

****SPOILERS***

From the first panel showing the red power battery, I knew exactly what would happen at the end... I thought it was going to happen a little before that though, possibly when she was on trial....

As much as I'm liking the build up to BlacCest Night. It's real obvious that the Guardians are going at the root of the problems that will arise within the G.L Corps.
