In the spirit of the demand for participating members I pose a question? Did any of the ladies watch the Slam Dunk contest?


I have to say I've never seen one that exciting since Vince Carter. That off the backboard dunk was CRAZY!:yes:
 
I didnt HA. I don't really follow sports, but things like that are fun to watch for those of us not cable deprived :(

Sadness. I love to sit back and relax and watch a good football game. As far as basketball I usually only watch All Star Weekend. Its so exciting to watch the best of the best. Can't watch baseball on TV but I love to go to the game.

I even like to have Super Bowl and All Star parties. Love sports.
 
I am a sports fiend. But basketball has gotten boring to me. I love FOOTBALL and BASEBALL. I am not on those women who watch it because the players are cute, I actually now stats, calls, etc... I have created plenty of threads on here about the sports teams in Cleveland.
 
i didn't vote because my answer doesn't fit into any of the categories but...

i will watch sports if they are on and really get into them (yeah i know strange)

and if u ask me, i will play. i'm not athletic but i'm competitive and have been told i have raw talent.

i like playing horse tho and just shooting around. i have a sweet spot but NO dribble skills. sometimes i wonder if i should have took bball more seriously.

damn...i should start playing something this year...maybe a different sport every 3 to 4 months
 
I am a sports fanatic! I was my father's shadow when I was little, and we would sit and watch baseball, basketball, football and hockey together. I watch everything but golf. I used to play basketball in school for 6 years, and I'm always down to play a game of baseball or touch football when the weather is nice :yes:

To the OP: I didn't watch any of the All Star contests last night & I'm pissed. I heard the dunk contest was crazy & I'm mad I missed it.

The dunk contest was crazy. Dwight Howard did his thing even though his Superman dunk wasn't really a dunk. :hmm:

They were real creative this year and it was too bad the other cat all but bowed out with a lame last dunk :dunno:
Jason Kapono tied Craig Hodges record for most 3 pointers in that contest. Dude can SHOOT!

So far the best part of the weekend was the rookie game on Friday. Uptempo with lots of flash! :yes: We'll see how the All Star game is today. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

In addition, I have started a Raiders fund to be prepared for when they make it to another super bowl. I will drop everything and follow them... then fly to Oakland for the parade... *sigh* I dream of this day.... also if for some strange reason if AL Davis dies before me (he is old enough to be my great great grand daddy but just so happens to be immortal) I will fly to the funeral. I love my team that much!

I am also considered a tattoo...

Its cool that you love your team but how can you be a fan of Al Davis? He is the WORST owner ever. I give him props for giving coaches like Art Shell and John Madden a chance plus various other 'controversial' players but the fact that he won't let his coaches do their job is the main reason his front office is always in turmoil. And if you think the league is going to let him win again as long as he is alive after suing them and winning you're going to be very disappointed. Remember the 'forward pass' rule in New England :smh:

Al Davis represents the good and the bad of our team. You can't take the good without the bad. That's what non Raider fans don't understand. A lot of folks would rather jump off the bandwagon. The Raiders, we will have our day again...

The rookie game was fire, from most of what I saw. Hopefully the game tonight will be just as good.

Well, my fiance and I argued about it for 15 minutes then we looked it up on wikipedia and came up with this....


"A slam dunk (or simply a dunk) is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both of his hands."

So yes it should be allowed and IT WAS AWESOME!:dance:

Sorry, but I gotta be real- I HATE basketball.

Moms got me into football when I was little though. The only other thing I can't stand more is baseball.


If you want some action though, find some wrestling matches. Not the fake shit but some takedowns, reversals, and legitimate pins.

Dammit if a man don't look good in spandex... :D

Same here. I don't have cable either and I don't need it either. I can't remember the last time I even turned my tv on. Definitely haven't this year.
