also people don't conversate they CONVERSE..

my people...we'll create a word on the spot in a minute..

conversate = every rappers favorite word, from biggie smalls to fabulous, they all use it instead of converse.

Well, we've always been very creative.

the problem is we'll HEAR someone say agreeance but DON'T correct them..next thing you know that shit its MTV and BET and suddenly most of the niggas on the corner are saying it..

I get scared when obama gets on a roll in one of his speeches or in a debate...i'm like PLEASE DON'T SAY IT!!

My biggest fear for him is he'll say: "well senator clinton and I are in AGREEANCE on this issue..."

The next sound you hear after that is his election bid flushing down the toilet:lol:

Yeah, I thought the same thing until.....

Main Entry: agreeance
Part of Speech: n
Definition: the act of agreeing
Example: Usage of the site constitutes agreeance with these terms.
Usage: considered obsolete and a bastardization of 'agreement'

Come on now, Obama is way too eloquent to start using "black speak". Besides, he went to harvard and I know they don't teach that shit there. It wud be real bad fo Obama to talk dis way.

My personal favorite:

"Irregardless"

I correct more people on this.

And what's up with black people not being able to say "asked"?

irregardless

Muthafuckas used this double negative 'non-word' so much that the dictionaries finally had to start acknowledging it's existence. Either way, it still grates my damn ears to hear it.

Well fuck it, let's just quit speaking English altogether then!

Might as well re-start the push for Ebonics.

The incorrectivity of your assernation flows directly from your pernacousiness vis a vie the white man.

You see my imperviously franautical brother, the Black man's creatiousness in his expiressions, is too deep for the common mans misinterptaciousness.

Peace, I'm out.

your articulation on the topic thus sickitates me..

I've never heard "worriation" before... The first person I ever heard of using "aggreance" was Fred Durst a few years back-- he was pretty widely made fun of for it; it's not a black thing.

And you should feel stupid for projecting your insecurities on Obama, almost as stupid as you should've felt for that "Is it okay to have a white girl call you n*gger during sex" thread.

You have obvious issues. :smh:

Okay, self-hating black people...

Fred Durst's 'agreeance' OK

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- The experts are in agreeance. Rocker Fred Durst was right after all.

Durst, lead singer of the rap-metal band Limp Bizkit, was widely mocked after he deviated from the script at the Grammy Awards to offer an anti-war sentiment that grated on the ears of grammarians: "I just really hope we're all in agreeance that this war should go away as soon as possible."

Wordsmiths everywhere agreed: Durst is dumb. Barry Koltnow of the Orange County Register called him illiterate. The Atlanta Journal Constitution said its copy desk was "in agreement that 'agreeance' isn't a word."

The Weekly Standard dubbed the performer "Fred Dunce."

But it turns out that Durst has some heavy linguistic hitters on his side. The North American editor of the Oxford English Dictionary told the New York Observer newspaper that "agreeance" is, in fact, a word. "It's in the OED," editor Jesse Sheindler told the paper. "He did use it correctly.

Sheindler said that "agreeance" was an obsolete word, having passed out of circulation by about 1714, but noted that it was still used occasionally -- especially in Australia.

irregardless |ˌiriˈgärdlis|
adjective & adverb informal
regardless.
ORIGIN early 20th cent.: probably a blend of irrespective and regardless .
USAGE Irregardless, with its illogical negative prefix, is widely heard, perhaps arising under the influence of such perfectly correct forms as: irrespective. Irregardless is avoided by careful users of English. Use regardless to mean 'without regard or consideration for' or 'nevertheless': | I go walking every day regardless of season or weather.

bootylicious |ˌboōtlˈi sh əs|
adjective informal
sexually attractive.
ORIGIN early 21st cent.: from booty (slang for ‘buttocks’ ), on the pattern of delicious.

bling-bling |ˈbli ng ˌbli ng |
noun informal
expensive, ostentatious clothing and jewelry, or the wearing of them : behind the bling-bling: are diamonds worth it?
ORIGIN 1990s: perhaps imitative of light reflecting off jewelry, or of jewelry clashing together.

Shit, you know it's bad when the dictionary isn't certain how the damn word came about...using probably and possibly to guess at the origins, when it was created out of ignorance in the late 20th and 21st centuries!:lol::lol:

Oh, and I still frown upon the damn word "bootylicious" being brought into the dictionary...how many times after that damn song have you heard a woman, or anyone for that matter, use it in conversation?

Words are merely "symbols" used to convey a message. If the Context is understood when being heard, THEN IT IS A WORD!

(like when Whites say FIXIN and Blacks say FINNA. Does that then mean FINNA aint a word? )

BLING wasn't a word in Websters until White Folks started using it.

My Journalism professor in college always said that the English language was the most bastardized language in the world.

We even identify with specific brand names or services with all brand names or services like FedEx a package or Xerox that resume.

What is widely used today will be obsolete tomorrow.

Journalists use "diss" now. I mean come on.

The fact that you laugh at your own idiocy does not excuse your stupid thoughts... Are you claiming that you made the whole thing up as a joke? I don't think so; most jokes are based in truth...

Hell, you just included a laugh icon in your argument that because "a good number" of people share your degradation fetish that it makes it all right... A good number of people would jump off a bridge too... That's a bullshit argument.

i'm claiming that the obama part was a joke...pay attention.

no that time i was laughing AT you..because you reached back for something that has nothing to do with this thread just so you can spew some kind of black panther pride bullshit..

nigga please:rolleyes:

That was "Keith Murray" but in all fairness rappers, writers, artists, actors, etc...do excercise their right to use "poetic licenses".

come on now there's got to be some limit here..okay i'll let Bling go cuz its a new word..

but worriation??? come on now

i'm claiming that the obama part was joke...pay attention.

You can say dumb, fucked up things jokingly and it still reflects negatively on you. Know who Andrew Young is?

It has to do with your mindset, your inferiority complex. I'm very far from a Black Panther. I don't even believe in the notion of black pride-- not anymore than white pride or gay pride; I see these as things that just are, not something to be proud of. I just don't believe in black self-loathing, either, which is what this conversation is all about...

yeah..andrew young told the TRUTH...it just embarassed some people..whats your point?

this conversation is tongue in cheek and about the misuse or misappropiation of words.. and since its a black message board I addressed it to black people..

now most other people either saw it for its tongue in cheekness and added to it or added thoughtful info about the fluidness of language.

only YOU and your toady beekers got all malcolm x about the shit..

here nigga...jerk off to this:
spkggh.jpg

and lighten the fuck up

I've never heard anyone say "worriation"....

Hey, he included a laugh icon, so it doesn't have to be true and he's definitely not accountable for a word he said...

I wonder how many black people he heard say this before he decided to issue a PSA to the entire race...
