Halle looks absolutely gorgeous. I knew someone was gonna bring up the fact that she is pregnant by and with a white man but hey...at least she seems happy. She hasn't had a lot of luck in the getting a good man so hopefully she hit the jack pot with this one. I'm 5 months pregnant myself.... maybe I'll get my hubby to take some pics of me to share.

I cannot co-sign that quote that Halle gave alot of brothers a chance...Why? Because we have never, ever seen her with a regular brotha. All the ones she got with are in the entertainment biz...She never got with a reg type cat like myself or any other 9-5 brotha. ^^^This to me, is a truly inspiring post that truly captures another facet of my feelings about this thorny issue of interracial relationships that seems to be a rather thorny issue of contention for some people within the black community.
Halle Berry's problems with the black men in her life may very well have stemmed from the fact that her father was not present during her formative years as her parents divorced when she was 4years old.
Her mother who's English brought her up to be aware of her biracial heritage but was sure to remind her that in America she would only be percieved as being "black" due to the one drop rule.
None of us will ever know what it was like for Halle growing from early childhood to troubled adulthood burdened the conflicting pulls of identity that she may have encountered but we can be sure that it probably wasn't easy for her coming into adulthood and being unsure of who or what she was supposed to be.
Her previous choices in men (with the exception of Dave Justice) would indicate that she was searching for a dominant, father figure type upon who she could rely to support her and add to her sense of self worth and desirability.
Unfortunately, most of the cats she got involved with were also drawn from within the entertainment industry. (which is not overwhelmingly populated with sociably stable individuals)
Wesley Snipes allegedly slapped her so badly that she's said to be deaf in one ear and we all know what went down between her and that philandering arsehole Eric Benet, but does that then imply that she couldn't have found love with a more regular brotha from outside of the entertainment world?
I'm sure she would have found no shortage of professional brotha's who would have been more than happy to be King to her Queen but alas, since we love to convince ourselves that there's nothing good in blackness she like many others (male or female) has opted to get with someone of a lighter hue.
Does she deserve our hate for this?
No. Because at the end of the day we're all responsible for the choices we make in life. (good or bad)
I just wish more people would recognise that rather than casting a fusilade of stones in the blame game that shames us all.
Like the brotha INVICTUS3RD, I have nothing but love and respect for all my sista's worldwide who understand the struggle and I just want to let you all know that there are a helluva lot've brothas out here who truly appreciate all the good things you do for us.
We love you all and would love to be a positive part of your lives as long as you aren't quick to prejudge us based on the mistakes that some of our less enlightened fellows make.
It's not like you hear a chorus of white men and women screaming how wack their own partners are when things dont work out and I dont see a mad rush of white women or men swearing of their own in favour of getting with "black saviours", so why do we always find it so convenient to praise the white worlds supposed virtues over our own?

Thank you. Halle gave plenty of black men a chance. She was just unlucky in those relationships. She has now found a man that she clicks with and believes would be a good companion for her and father for her child. She was Oprah before her pregnancy and she said she would never marry again. She's 41 years old and wants to be a mother which a natural biological function. I wish her, her child, and her relationship nothing but happiness.

I'm neither overjoyed nor shattered at who she's with. At this point in life, I don't trip over who others want to be with. If she finds peace, cool. But I think when people try to say Halle is with this guy BECAUSE it didn't work out with Black men - that assumes way too much and speaks a general negative viewpoint of one's own brothers. I don't know Halle to be able to state that this is the first white guy she dated. She very well might have dated some other ones in the past, and it didn't work out.
The other thing is, I have never met a perfect person. So, it's logical to think that in some of the relationships Halle Berry was in, the relationship not succeeding was her fault - or was the result of incompatibility. Not every Black man is an abusive, cheating asshole any more than every Black woman is a antisocial, disrespectful wretch. In the end, if someone keeps again and again choosing to be with people who abuse or cheat on them, that person needs to examine self to find out what she or he is doing wrong to keep putting themselves in that position.
But the Blackmen she was with and this whiteguy clearly have nothing in common so again that goes to the fact that she got with the wrong types of dudes(her choice).
