Do you realy think man landed on the moon in the 60s

when I say "discovered" I meant discovered as in "they discovered the means to land on another celestial body other than earth". So they go to the moon and because of money they decided to never go back. Why weren't there documentation (video) released of the later trips? Why NO MORE VIDEO?

You're speaking out of ignorance. Everything you claim doesn't exist, actually does. Here's a hint. READ about the history of the space program first (if you were too young to experience it firsthand) and then ask these ridiculous questions.

I think I understand the reason for our peoples' collective deep seeded distrust for the white guys landing on the moon. It might possibly have to do with "us" not being a part of it in any major way. That's totally wrong. Without "us" there would be no United States. This country was built with our sweat, labor AND genius. We as African Americans contributed much to the braintrust of American technology and are continuing to do so toaday. We must never forget that. It can be hard sometimes to hold our heads up when we look at the continued achievements that whitey impressively stamps his "Made in America" label on. But many people know the truth and can be proud. If only ALL of us knew it and could be proud together as a people. May your New Year be prosperous and fulfilling.

Peace

That's another fucked up myth. Black folks with advanced science and math degrees couldn't get jobs doing shit else back then but crunching numbers for NASA or other government jobs. We weren't getting jobs designing jets for Boeing, we got jobs designing single panels on lunar landers. Problem is, you haven't heard of ANY of those people, but we were there in "disproportionally" large numbers considering how many of us had high level science jobs anyplace else. My pops got a degree in electro-chemistry in 1955. He worked for the city water department in Cleveland for about 15 years and then went to NASA for about 5 (before they cut funding and guess who was the first to go?) He knew dudes that STILL worked for NASA until he retired 20-something years ago who were there through the whole Apollo program and the shuttle program. He left NASA and was able to get his first job in corporate America in like 1975. He told me the equivalent job to what he had at NASA (developing heat resistant and conductive coatings for panels) paid about DOUBLE in the civillian workplace and even with his NASA cred, he STILL got paid less than the white boys at the time. He retired in 1985 or 86 making about $60K per year (about 1/2 to 1/3 what the average person of his skills would have made after 30 years in the industry with patents and shit under his belt and about 5K more than the average college grad got entry level at the time of his retirement). So we were there and doing it BIG, we just don't get the credit.

Some cats ASSUME the white man went to the moon, but without those low paid bruhs in the background designing all the shit that got them there, half those white astronauts would still be floating up there in orbit dead as shit.

If you answered NO I've a few bridges I'd like to sell you!!!

I can't believe people are still buying into this shit. :smh:

Why did they stop video taping all the landings after the first?

as i stated earlier, nasa has apparently 'lost' all the moon landing tapes... all 10,000 of them shits.

HOW IN THE FUCK DOES NASA LOSE 10,000 FUCKING TAPES!!!???

how does a mufucka lose 10,000 of anything. then, it was likely those big circular wheels of fucking film.

losing 10 out of 10,000, i can live with that.

but to lose all 10,000 of them. i smell bullshit. whether we went to the moon or not is an argument. the LOCATION of those tapes SO THAT WE CAN ANALYZE THE FOOTAGE WITH TODAY'S technology should NOT be left up to argument or discussion.

you pay taxes, you live in america, you have public agencies that want the tapes, but nasa 'loses' them; all 10,000 of them.

BULLSHIT!!!

If you answered NO I've a few bridges I'd like to sell you!!!

I can't believe people are still buying into this shit. :smh:

where are the landing tapes? where? why not release them to the public?

They didn't loose them like "Oops, they fell out my pocket", the tapes got exposed and destroyed because NASA fell into disrepair between the Apollo years and the shuttle years due to having no budget.

It doesn't take much beyond a 5th grade education to feel "superior" to crazy-ass moon-landing-deniers (and Twin Tower "implosion" theorists).

:smh:

I'm not a Twin Tower "implosion" theorist. I believe terrorists got a good lick in and destroyed the Towers. Bottom line. One day I was reading up on space travel in my office and I asked myself why America never went back to the moon. So I researched it more and more it seemed "improbable" to me in many ways.

I watched a multitude of films on it (pro lunar landing and anti lunar conspiracy films) I even talked to a retired NASA engineer..(my ex-girlfriends dad/ He still lives in Clear Lake right down the street from NASA) He himself stated that "there are tons of holes in the NASA LUNAR PROGRAM" <-----his own words.

Whenever I would ask people do they think we ever actually went to the moon, they immediately snap "Yes we did"...then when I ask "Why haven't we been back"?...they look puzzled.

I can't believe people are still buying into this shit.

Why be surprised? They all came out of the woodwork with the 9/11 (WTC) nonsense. Stupid people like to take the shortcut to knowledge. it's easier for them to feel smart by mindlessly joining a "conspiracy" group rather than to actually pick up a book and read about the subject, or do minimal research.

They didn't loose them like "Oops, they fell out my pocket", the tapes got exposed and destroyed because NASA fell into disrepair between the Apollo years and the shuttle years due to having no budget.

And what you just stated sounds just as crazy. You mean to tell me "National/World Treasures" like Lunar tapes were left to rot? Yea right! Dude that makes NO SENSE whats so ever. Documents like those aren't just left out to rot because of money...no way.

Whenever I would ask people do they think we ever actually went to the moon, they immediately snap "Yes we did"...then when I ask "Why haven't we been back"?...they look puzzled.

That question's been answered a THOUSAND times in this thread. We went back 5 or 6 times!!! Projects and missions END and change over time. There're only hundreds of books explaining the history of the space program. You'll find every answer you want there. You must live in some sci-fi world, thinking we're supposed to colonize a rock in space.

I'd ask you now, "why should we continue to go there (when other projects are more important), and who's gonna pay for it?"

Dog, my sister is a petroleum engineer that works in the oil and gas industry and believes the Earth is 5000 years old and there were no dinosaurs. She has ADVANCED degrees and pays her bills based on science she claims she doesn't believe in due to her religious beliefs. Takes all kinds dog, from NASA engineers that don't believe space travel is viable to petroleum engineers that think oil is the result of God eating a bad burrito and getting the "cosmic bubble guts".

This country let a LOT of shit go in the 70's during the recession. Hell, they almost let the original copy of the constitution dry rot during that time. We let the entire country fall apart during the 70's. They spent the entire 80's and part of the 90's trying to restore the capital buildings in D.C. that they let go to shit and every major city pretty much fell apart too (and we STILL haven't fixed all of it).

Nobody gave a shit about the Apollo program again until they launched the first shuttle and started hyping the space program again in the mid 80's. Since nobody gave a shit about Apollo, nobody gave a shit about the tapes. Americans do the shit all the time.

The ultimate proof of the Moon mission is the one the conspiracy theorists cannot deny:

http://www.lpi.usra.edu/lunar/missions/apollo/apollo_11/experiments/lrr/

Apollo 11 MissionOverview | Landing Site | Surface Operations | Photography | Experiments | Samples
Soil Mechanics | Solar Wind | Passive Seismic | Laser Ranging Retroreflector
Lunar Dust Detector | Lunar Surface Magnetometer

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Science Experiments - Laser Ranging Retroreflector
The Laser Ranging Retroreflector experiment was deployed on Apollo 11, 14, and 15. It consists of a series of corner-cube reflectors, which are a special type of mirror with the property of always reflecting an incoming light beam back in the direction it came from. A similar device was also included on the Soviet Union's Lunakhod 2 spacecraft. These reflectors can be illuminated by laser beams aimed through large telescopes on Earth. The reflected laser beam is also observed with the telescope, providing a measurement of the round-trip distance between Earth and the Moon. This is the only Apollo experiment that is still returning data from the Moon. Many of these measurements have been made by McDonald Observatory in Texas. From 1969 to 1985, they were made on a part-time basis using the McDonald Observatory 107-inch telescope. Since 1985, these observations have been made using a dedicated 30-inch telescope. Additional measurements have been made by observatories in Hawaii, California, France, Australia, and Germany.

Laser beams are used because they remain tightly focused for large distances. Nevertheless, there is enough dispersion of the beam that it is about 7 kilometers in diameter when it reaches the Moon and 20 kilometers in diameter when it returns to Earth. Because of this very weak signal, observations are made for several hours at a time. By averaging the signal for this period, the distance to the Moon can be measured to an accuracy of about 3 centimeters (the average distance from the Earth to the Moon is about 385,000 kilometers).

The Laser Ranging Retroreflector experiment has produced many important measurements. These include an improved knowledge of the Moon's orbit and the rate at which the Moon is receding from Earth (currently 3.8 centimeters per year) and of variations in the rotation of the Moon. These variations in rotation are related to the distribution of mass inside the Moon and imply the existence of a small core, with a radius of less than 350 kilometers, somewhat smaller than the limits imposed by the passive seismic and magnetometer experiments. These measurements have also improved our knowledge of changes of the Earth's rotation rate and the precession of its spin axis and have been used to test Einstein's theory of relativity.

I know THEY WENT BACK 5 and 6 times. Didn't you read where I said I researched it? Why go to the moon and then STOP and continue to do all of you research in Orbit ONLY?

Why not keep pushing the limit? When has man pushed it to the limit only to pull back later?

I never said colonize a rock either. Living in Space for prolonged periods causes muscle and bone deterioration! I'm just saying that you spend millions on tests to birth rats in orbit why spend a few more and take them to the moon?

They didn't loose them like "Oops, they fell out my pocket", the tapes got exposed and destroyed because NASA fell into disrepair between the Apollo years and the shuttle years due to having no budget.

"excuses are like assholes, we all have one and they all stink."

how the fuck they gonna lose 10,000 tapes showing the 1st lunar landing? that's like throwing away the rubber from your 1st piece of pussy. :hmm::eek::eek::hmm::lol::lol::lol::lol:

:dance::dance::dance::dance:

I'm not a Twin Tower "implosion" theorist. I believe terrorists got a good lick in and destroyed the Towers. Bottom line.

man, don't start THIS shit. when conspiracy theorists speak out on the towers falling, WTC 1 & 2 are NOT the focal point of the discussion.

the focal point is WTC-7 which just imploded. it did NOT get hit by a plane.

so i challenge you or ANYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD to find another example of ANY building in the history of mankind that has fallen on its own imprint. a shock wave from WTC 1 & 2 made it collapse?

well, no other building in the vicinity of WTC 7 collapsed, so why was it the only one? again, no plane hit bldg 7. bldgs 1 & 2 had a reason to drop; wtc 7 has none. please explain.

Why be surprised? They all came out of the woodwork with the 9/11 (WTC) nonsense. Stupid people like to take the shortcut to knowledge. it's easier for them to feel smart by mindlessly joining a "conspiracy" group rather than to actually pick up a book and read about the subject, or do minimal research.

see the above you scientific bitch.

all that's written isn't truth. do some independent thinking and find a building that has collapsed on its own footprint in addition to wtc 7.

find those nasa tapes.
find the 9-11 tapes that the fbi has 'lost.' ted kennedy asked for them again today to no avail.

tell her to pray to god to pay her bills based on her faith next month.

Dude you've got to be shittin' me. Have you ever been to NASA? I'm not talking about "just the exhibits" either. There's no way on Earth they'd let those tapes "just" fall apart. I still have VHS tape in my closet from the 80's in tact. And you believe they just dry rotted? They never copied them? They never backed them up? A company that prides itself on compiling data just let them go, just like that. I live in Houston and know people that work there. Some of them have worked there for over 30 years...YEA RIGHT....THERE WERE NO TAPES DUDE.

yup, they'll post the Colin Powell. I had a client in my office this morning (a sister) and I said some of the wording in her video project needed to be clearer and she yelled out "Who cares you know us black folks don't read"! :smh:

NASA now is nothing like NASA in the 70's. The budget was stripped and nobody was taking care of shit. And we aren't talking about VHS tape, we are talking about canned film that has to be maintained or it just rots away. All kinds of old film, especially COLOR film has been lost under similar circumstances. I know plenty of people that worked for NASA too inside and outside of Houston, that doesn't really mean shit because most of them that were there long enough got laid off in the 70's and rehired in the 80's.

I did a LONG multi-page post of black science and math pioneers last year I think. The usual cats responded and the usual cats did not, no surprises.

He'd throw up in his mouth if he knew you were using it to justify something so stupid. You probably think the Earth is flat too.

:smh:

let's review:

1) cold war
2) obedience to authority by Stanley Milgram

let's take it a step further:

3) Rwanda Genocide
4) Nazi's and the Holocaust
5) the World Bank and the IMF

catch my drift? here's a hint: define propaganda

here's another hint: compare and contrast

and yet another hint: study imperialism
e.g. Public Power in the Age of Empire by Arundhati Roy

i didn't deny or confirm that i believe that we were the first to land on the moon. it's a moot point.

but in the context of the cold war, why do you think it was important for the U.S. to be the "first on the moon"?

here's the bottom line nephew: you lack the very fundamentals of analytical thought.

maybe it's time for you to come up with a new routine. it's clear to me that you're a simpleton, and you use uni-causal analysis as the base of your knowledge.

Ok, I have been a member of this board for longer than most of you may think and I have got to say that more and more, you all are proving to be some of the dumbest fucks I've ever come across.

I will say that I know the government has covered up a lot of shit but I would love to have a full explanation of what happened to the rocket that the whole east coast of Florida watched blast off. What happened to the sailors on the ship that pulled the capsule out of the damn ocean? Why haven't they talked if it was a cover-up? There are just too many things that would have needed to be covered up.

I say, get a damn life in 2008 and start dealing with issues that will get your ass somewhere in life.

I used to be in the "NO" group, but I have done enough reading and watching educational programs to know I was wrong.

THE LEARNING CHANNEL, THE HISTORY CHANNEL, PUBLIC BROADCASTING SERVICE, THE DISCOVER CHANNEL, THE TRAVEL CHANNEL, and a whole host of DIGITAL CLASSROOM CHANNELS.

I wonder what Sherry Shepherd would answer to this question?

Oh yeah ... 11 pages total

I'll ask you too like i did someone earlier in the thread. Find a pic that someone has taken with a telescope of the lander on the moon. It sounds like someone would have done this, and it would have its own section of the internet out there somewhere. I can pull up a pic of the crab nebula in under 1 minute, because more than one organization has taken a picture of it. I can pull up a picture of a dodge viper because more than one organization has seen it and captured it on film. Find the lunar lander for me please. :( Find that picture. And that will end that aspect of my argument.

We went back 5 or 6 times. Did you miss that?

Show us 1 picture of 1 of the 5 or 6 rovers that were also left there.
